I have an issue with my laptop. I had to reinstall windows as I had massive problems with my 2.5 month old laptop. blue screen of death every day. DOZENS of time.
Downloaded Win8 from Microsoft as i don't have dvd and put it on usb in order to make a fresh clean install. it didn't work. didn't want to instal the system.
So i got WIn7 64bit on dvd from a friend in order to instal it and then redownload win8. that version is... ekhem. Somalian Seas Entrepreneur kind of version. so i cannot update it. it works tough.

Here is my issue. Not sure whether i should bother with installing Win8. So far youtube works, internet works, itunes movies work, Mafia 2 plays without issue like it did on Win8. Will be testing more games but so far so good.

Except:
I cannot install few of the drivers. Please see attached pic for what im talking about. Is it big deal? I have no idea what those things do. Should I keep using win7 or should i try to instal win8 instead...

The laptop is acer aspire v3772g. Their webpage only has drivers for Win8. I found win7 drivers for my computer through google and tried to install those. some of them don't work tough. Intel various chipset drivers tell me for example that i don't meet requirements. yet readmes say that they are for win7 64bit

+5 rep for most helpful comment :)

ethernet is not neccesary if you dont use it/a network.

usb controllers will disable anything usb related i gather, thus usb sticks, harddrives etc.

it would have helped as to why you got the blue screen and what the error was.

Your system sounds pretty significantly borked, even if parts of it are functioning. Those are rather major drivers to not have working, particularly the Ethernet and USB ones.

Did you perform these installations as "upgrades", basically trying to update an in-place version of Windows? I hate to say it, but you may need to do a full system wipe back to the beginning. If you have the CDs that came with the laptop, you should be able to execute a System Restore, which will turn it back into the way it was when you bought it. Then you can proceed with an upgrade from there.

This means you will have to reinstall everything, as well as configure all your programs. Back up all your data and account information before taking this drastic step.

Hopefully there is nothing more significantly wrong than just botched installations. This doesn't sound like a hardware failure or problem with the hive files.

Yeah would be akward if it was hardware as it seems to be a new laptop.

Usually hardware failures manifest as very specific problems, rather than this broad set of issues the OP is having. And hive file damages typically result in aberrant behaviour or frequent BSODs. The fact that many low level drivers are missing indicates to me that the installations are in conflict, with system files and drivers from both versions co-existing badly. That's why I recommend taking it back down to the system's original state, as painful as that is. Otherwise things are likely to continue to go awry as new installations compound the conflict.
You probably have but . . check to see that the account you are using is an admin account. Install the drivers / games / programs as an admin , right click the exe and click "Run as an administrator" on the resulting dialog.
The problems I was having with my win8.1 system were numerous. Page file errors, page fault, ntfs file system error, nvlddmkm.sys fault, kernel issues, driver irql and more (those listed are ones i searched on my mobile. there were more different issues)
but thats in the past. i formatted the drive.

Few things to explain. the system came with Linux not with windows. I got original win8 and installed it. I can't go back to original state. then the system got broken (shortly after 8.1 installation i believe)
i did fully format the drive. I do that every 12 months anyway so its no biggie. installed win7. which installed most drivers by itself but then i installed nvidia drivers and intel from their webpages and rest of drivers (like wireless) from page with many drivers for win7 for my laptop. few of those did not work. hence its like it is.

usb works. They are two blue usb which also work but I can't check whether they are truly 3.0 or just regular.
Maybe this from German Acer Forum can help,:

Install this one for USB3:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?lang=deu&httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/22824/eng/SetupUSB3.zip&Dwnldid=22824&changeLang=true

Try this one for LAN:

Good luck with it :)

Have ya tried something like this to try and get the graphics card to update it's own drivers?:

http://www.geforce.com/geforce-experience

Also I am not very tech savvy either but did you completely get rid of Windows 8 before installing 7? Because I looked it up and Microsoft warn against overwriting one with the other as they somehow bork each other. Also because Microsoft want your money.
If you already are using an administrator account there's a chance your driver issues are the ekhem software's fault. It's quite common for them not to function properly. My suggestion would be to scan your data for malware, then back up everything as previously suggested, format and re-install windows 8. You never know what kind of crap those types of software might try to pull behind your back or what kind of... extras they might come packaged with. And if your laptop is still covered by warranty, it might be worth a shot going to wherever you bought it from and asking them to burn win8 on a disk for you. Just don't mention you-know-what to them. :P Good luck.

Edit: also, stupid question, but any chance you simply tried installing the wrong drivers or wrong versions of drivers? Could be worth to re-check that.

i did full format during installation of win7. and twice during win8 installation which failed.
i have newest geforce drivers installed. they work so far without issues. LAN worked.... at least it said it successfully installed drivers. the usb link does not work tough.

Might be that the hard disk is on its way out. Is there an option to scan it within your BIOS? Otherwise try checking the hard disk manufacturer's website for a tool, e.g. Hitachi DFT, SeaTools etc.
Does this one work?

The file that you are trying to download has either been moved, renamed or archived.

Please go to http://downloadcenter.intel.com and choose your product to find your download.

EDIT: i did find it tough. thx again.

I also installed... something from intel. it did result in two bsod crashes so I might to have to remove it.

but for now device manager says that only PCI simple Communication controller is lacking.
