orcishgamer: Switzerland is insanely expensive, though, I don't think people realize just how insane prices can get there. I had to cross the border to Thoiry just to afford stuff like yogurt and meat. "Fast Food" is a bad comparison though, it's marked up to a really unreasonable amount over there. You could eat at La Manora or something for the same price as a McDonald's meal. Pizza Hut used to have an all you can eat deal in Geneve, I don't think they liked us Americans coming in and filling up, though, they always looked terribly annoyed at us.

I ate a lot of pasta over there. The chocolate was affordable though, and very tasty:)
Exact, we don't have Pizza Hut* or Burger King anymore, but fast-food and most foreign food are a luxury. Supermarket's cafeterias and some small cafés are far more affordable - given enough time for lunch, you can eat reasonably well with 1.2-1.5 times the price of a GOG.

*(the option "all you can eat" wasn't that attractive, with a slow service at lunch in a crowded restaurant)

$10 is 10 lunches for me -- since I spend $1 on a Hot Pocket pretty much every day.
If I don't, lunch is $5 getting Indian from a lunch truck.

or 62 cm (24 inch) pizza,
or 12 litres of Coca Cola in Poland.

Only 10 beers?! In Poland you'd get 15 in supermarket! (decent ones, not the cheapest ones). In pubs? Well, like 8 beers.

AFnord: 10 beers!? I would not even get 1.2 beers for the price of one GOG, if I order them at a bar. If I were to buy them at a liquor store I would get just over 3 (33cl), or possibly up to 5 if I were to buy the really poor stuff.
DAFUQ.... Now I know I'll NEVER visit Sweden :P

And I am talking about the $10 GOGs here, just so that we are on the same page. Sweden has a very high tax on alcohol though, which makes getting drunk a tad bit expensive. Also, most bars knows that we "expect" to pay somewhere in the region of 50-60sek for a beer, so that is how much they expect us to pay (at least in Stockholm). And you do not get good beer (or cider, if that is your fancy) either for that kind of money.
And that is by the way why Swedes like to go abroad to get drunk, because going to Finland or Denmark can actually save you some money, if you plan to do a few days of hard partying (depending on where you live of course, but for us who live in Stockholm, going to Finland is the cheaper alternative). And Finns go to Estonia to get their cheap alcohol.

No - The discussion was about lunch. I eat the Banana for breakfast around 10:00 am and the Yogurt around 2:30 pm for lunch.

What about homemade hooch? ;) Or homemade beers, for instance? Is it very popular in Sweden?

I was of course talking about tapped beer :D
in supermarket you can get 18 for ten bucks...
