Andy_Panthro: In the UK?
Never tried hooking up my PSP to the interwebs...

Nafe: That I don't know, I don't have a PSP, just going of something I vaguely recall hearing.

Might have to try it. It's bound to work better than my PC version of FF7, which can be a touch problematic.

Yup. mine crashes every few hours which can be a tad irritating if I've not saved in a while. I'm hoping XP mode in Windows 7 professional sorts that though.

I actually have no crash problems, my problem is cut-scene playback, can play at a different speed to the sound or overlaid characters. Using XP though, I suppose you're on Vista?

I am indeed. I've also read reports that XP mode in win7 fixed some problems with games running too fast in regular XP so I'm quite hopeful.

Windows Virtual PC (which powers XP Mode) is not intended for games. While XP Mode gives you a feature-complete, genuine copy of XP that is fully compatible in terms of software, its hardware does not reflect a real system. The virtual machine has only a very basic virtualised video card with a minimal feature set (the VM cannot see your real video card due to technical limitations) which means many games will not work (especially newer ones). Final Fantasy VII might run because it is quite old, but there is no way of knowing. Also note that Windows Virtual PC requires a CPU with hardware-assisted virtualisation technology. If yours doesn't have that you're out of luck.
The new version of VirtualBox (free) has proper 3D support (it can even run quite modern games like Morrowind and Deus Ex), although you will need to supply your own copy of XP, and once again there is no guarantee that Final Fantasy VII will actually work with it. VirtualBox does not require a CPU with hardware-assisted virtualisation, although without one you will not get the native-like performance this technology allows.

Well I won't be holding my breath but as I said, I know someone who has tried it with Win7 RC and has had some successful results. I've not asked what games he tried though.

Andy_Panthro: I expect I'll sell the DS soon, but one of these days I'll have to finish Crisis Core on the PSP.

Nafe: Don't forget that FF7 is available on the PSP too know, as far as I recall.

It's available on the Media Go store. I bought and downloaded it yesterday, but still haven't started it. But it was quite the hassle, since those retards decided to lock those who actually want to pay for the games, despite having custom firmware (that I use for homebrew ports of various PC games), thereby forcing them to either switch back to official, or illegally download the game. I did find a different CFW that could use the store in the end, though.
70% PC (GOG's mostly)
20% Wii (Mostly balance board games)
10% DS (Puzzle games mostly)
10% Xbox 360 (though many of the games are from original XBox)
My mix is influenced by the fact that I'm not an online gamer. I play almost purely single player games, with the exception of Guild Wars. Even in Guild Wars I solo a lot. Social time and video game time aren't mixed much.
It's about 75/25 between my 360 and my PC respectively. I know it's the opposite for most users of GOG but, in my case, GOG was really the first thing that actually got me to play games on my PC. So 25% is a pretty big deal.

Ois: PC 100%
I no longer use (or desire really) a TV, so I need to find a converter box to use my mega-drive and Saturn again. Else it might be a 80/10/10 split.

I was looking into something similar a while ago.
What I found via Google, was and [url=http://grandtec.com/products/video/videomate.html]this.

They are along the lines I've found. I'm more looking to one that can output at DVI rather VGA, but they tend to be a bit limited or rather pricey :|
PC only. I would have a PC regardless, and I can get plenty of games I enjoy on it, so I see no reason to spend money for another game machine.

I... have a TV Tuner in my PC >.> Works perfectly fine for my needs. :) (Not that I use it that often anymore. Got it for running my PS2 through)
The systems I own:
PC
PS1
PS2
N64
DS
Wii
SNES
That are fully opperational right now:
PC
PS2
Wii
DS
Ration of playing:
PC 99%
DS .9%
everything else .1% :)

Just updated my PSP, and got access to the PSN store, £7.99 for FF7.
Downloading at the moment, won't have a chance to play it properly til tomorrow.
Slightly drunk which is why I've bought something in the middle of the night.
Whoops.
