GOG is my favorite gaming platform and there are certain games I'm waiting for but doubt it will come out because it doesn't have the highest vote.

Games like Battle for Middle Earth 2 + EXP, Empires: Dawn of the Modern World, and Emperor: Battle for Dune.

I'm a huge RTS fans, and having these 3 will complete my collection.
Two titles a week minimum: one on Tuesdays and one on Thursdays. Sometimes more than that when there is either more than one title released on a particular release day or when there is a title released on a non-release day as part of a special announcement.

I also voted for Empires: Dawn of the Modern World. That's the real Empire Earth 2. But you are right, it doesn't look like it's coming... And Rise of Nations either.
While EA has shown to be rather good(?) to work with, Battle for Middle Earth 2 is unlikely given the Lord of the Rings Copyrights

I wouldn't worry about this as votes count on wishlist has nothing to do with what games will be released (or when). The primary issue for a game to be released here are copyrights.
Just so you know, wishlist votes do not determine the order that games get released. They can help GOG to know what the most sought-after games are, but they still have to sign contracts with the rights-holders, who aren't always interested (and sometimes no-one even knows who they are, such as with the N.O.L.F. series.)

Games that involved licensed properties (such as the "Dune" games) tend to be especially difficult, as they were often made under limited-term contracts with the owner of the license. So in order to re-release them, GOG might not only need to work out a deal with the owner of the game copyright, but that owner might have to work out a new deal with the owner of the "Dune" franchise. Sometimes that can work out, but other times it's more hassle than it's worth, or you end up dealing with a license holder who will only agree to allow the game to be distributed if they get a 98% cut of the profits, etc.

To sum up: it's complicated, but never give up hope.
As Magnitus said, every Tuesday and Thursday are release days!

As for sales:
Every Friday is the start of the Weekend Promo which lasts all weekend long. Weekend Promos tend to be multiple games.
Mondays and Wednesdays tend to be Gem Promos which only last 24 hours. Gem Promos are often only a single game. I can't recall if Wednesdays are every Wednesday, or only a few in each month. The sales kind of all blur together.

GOG staff takes Saturday and Sunday off, so all customer support and the like gets held until Monday.

GOG is based in Poland and keeps Polish working hours. Timezones are your friends! :)

I imagine it has a small say. Gog can't possible be working to get every old game in existence at the same time, with only copyright being a problem for them all, and voting will occasionally help target what they go after. It won't be a factor most of the time and licensing will always complicate things, but having a lot of votes will potentially help get a game looked at more seriously.
