grinninglich: Very good but strange. Because console has very very hard games. And also on the RPG side there are very hard games too. On the other side PC has save feature every time you want. PC games are more easy. If a person comes from console he/she should not have a problem playing PC games.
iippo: it sounds to me you have bit shallow experience about pc games. Consoles do not have a single complex simulator game for example. Anyways, these growing number of pc games are console ports and coming their autosave features.

grinninglich: No i have been playing PC games since 1996. I am not mentioning about autosaves. In PC games you can save mostly whereever and whenever you want. But in console games when you die you will start at the beginining of that stage. And you have limited life. Think about Castlevania, Gargoyle's Quest. But in PC games just save and load how many times you want. Unlimited try from the point just where you died.
1996? Try Karateka from the 80s or something like Prince of Persia or Commander Keen. X-Wing , TIE-Fighter etc from the 90s had some crazy ass missions which made you defend or escort something which you couldn't save anytime you want, failing the objective meant restarting the mission. I spent nearly 1 day to win X-Wing Alliance's 2nd Death Star Trench Run and that was in 1999-2000. There were KOEI turn-based strategy games comparable to Langrisser that progressed by levels and couldn't save where you wanted, failing the level also meant restarting the level. Also, try Cannon Fodder, it's right on GOG, I had a hard time playing it back then. Most PC games allow you to save anytime, but you need to take some examples that even though you can save anytime, it doesn't mean the game is any easier. Try going into an early HOMM game without knowing what to do or a game like the original X-COM. Try getting stuck on a puzzle for hours in an adventure game both of old or new, I know I have on multiple occasions. Most RTSes can and will screw you up if you're not fast enough. Grand strategy games on the PC of old won't give you an easy time if you don't bother to study the mechanics or know the history.
I grant you that console games then were hard. I started with consoles in the Nintendo, Sega days starting with the NES. In the original Mario, there were shortcuts to levels especially the one at World 4. I completed Contra 2 without using a single continue, but in the Contra series you had that famous 99 lives controller code. I've played that insanely difficult Ninja Crusaders but never got the better of it. Some beat them ups were more manageable, Golden Axe and the like, Warriors of Fate as well. I can't remember where I got in Double Dragon, played with a friend mostly.
Just saying in no way PC games are easier in any era. Both have their own sort of difficulties, some game genres on both platforms can't be compared at all.

Wish i had chance to having any kind of saving feature in X-Wing and B-wing for instance...
I need to play some Commander Keen.

One or two, not sure if the sequel was ever made.
But the point is, you shouldn't make such sweeping statements. ;)

Try to find a way to get the controller from the console to work on the PC. In the case of the 360 it's easy, the wii/ps3 controllers are a bit harder.

I would recommend Metro 2033 and Crysis for your recently converted friend Sachys. I think Metro 2033 and Crysis 2 were in a bundle before. As for RPGs I think the Risen games would be good as they were terrible ports on console, but I am not sure if they support controllers.

The bit about pc users saving all the time, there`re still plenty of games that don`t let you.
I recall steam forums raging about it in Bioshock Infinite, same for Dishonoured (spelt with a "U" because screw `Murica ;p) if I recall.
Oddly enough, I`ll recommend B`Infinite to him, but I`ve a vague feeling he`s already got it on console hasn`t he?
I second the Overlord series, even I sit back with a controller for that at times & it is a funny game :)

Arkham City. I don't care if he likes Batman or not. Just... Arkham City.
It plays nicely with an Xbox controller too.

Easy. have him play multiplatform titles that have good ports on PC. Then he'll understand what he's missing:
-Arkham Series
-Deus Ex: Human Revolution
-The Witcher 2
-Dishonored
-Battlefield 3..not 4. 4 is fucking mess.
-Gianna Sisters
