My point wasn't to make GOG the bad guys here. I know that it's difficult situation, but if GOG had provided even just Machinarium as a freebie for the next 13 days I would have purchased here. That way at least GOG recovers somewhat by getting more sales than usual because of the promotion, but now they make nothing for the next 13 days if folk go to HB for the better deal.

They can't just give away Machinarium without Amanita's consent and apparantly Amanita doesn't want you to buy from GOG at this moment. They seem to count on lots of people missing the bundle and buying the games for the full price afterwards because their friends got the games with the bundle and told them about it. Amanita's generosity with Machinarium and the soundtracks will only last a fortnight.

I still don't see the reason why GOG should bundle something along with Botanicula. After all, there's no obligation on GOG's end to do something out of the ordinary just because Amanita decided to look for another channel to promote their game. GOG is already on the losing end due to this mess & by providing The Witcher EE to those who pre-ordered, GOG is already on the losing end. To include Machinarium along for future Botanicula purchase would hurt GOG more than not having more customers buying Botanicula. Moreover, you're just speaking from your own perspective, which I'm pretty sure doesn't always apply to the many others out there.

It's like you're a shopkeeper & your supplier decided to sell his products to a hypermarket who sold it cheaper to the end users. It's not logical to go crazy & giving away free stuffs to counter what a hypermarket could do. 1 wrong move & you might be a shopkeeper no more.

Yeah, this is what I wanted to say before I began rambling. :)
Without Amanita permitting GOG to give away copies of Machinarium to all Botanicula purchasers like you want, jpinsa, GOG will have to pay Amanita for each copy of Machinarium that they give away.
Therefore, the deal you're getting is the limit of what Amanita is allowing GOG customers.
Gonna bow out here, just going in circles. Better deal at HB for the next two weeks, period, that's just the way it is. Sorry GOG, know it's not your fault, but on principle I'm not going to buy it here for $9.99 just because I didn't pre-order.
