They did. They released the DRM free version way into the shelf life of the game. The DRM free version is done and finished. I haven't played the game in several month. But even when the DRM free version got released, that was maybe 50% of the already available content.

Now, they released a new version DRM free "GOTY" if you will, which is again state of the art. And we don't know how they will support this version.

Try poking your ISP's tech support. It helps most of the time unless you have some stubborn asshalts as ISP, in which case you should ditch them. :)

That's definitely the case. It's just that we have to have an all in one broadband and phone call anytime daily package, which only a few isp's offer. Damn annoying.

From my limited knowledge, my guess is that your ISP is BT? :P

BT is actually one of the best, lol. If i had that, i wouldn't have these problems.

Exactly. But I know for a fact that other devs, who didn't strike it rich, still manage to support a bunch of distribution channels, address users' complaints on an individual basis and even waste their time on me personally. Since Eyebrow aren't doing that, their time is worth more than the extra money they'd get from the "no DRM or no sale" people. Which, in turn, means they can do fine without my money.

They made a choice I don't like. That's seriously the only reason to be angry at anyone.

I hate you all for ruining for me... I wanted to do this... Can I just point out that they also manage to get a game previously only on Steam DRM free also (Shank 2 was only on steam, right?)

Anyway - not the best bundle, in my opinion, right now Build A Greenlight Bundle have a better selection of games. Still, will get this one for all the DD DLC's and Closure. Waiting to see what other bonuses they as the bundle goes along.

Okay, so is Dungeon's Defenders worth it? I'm not a big fan of multiplayer, and even if I was, there probably aren't many people playing the DRM-free version, right?

I'm just asking because the rest of the bundle isn't very exciting, I already own Legend of Grimrock so I'm not sure if I really want to beat the average this time.

Hope they add Amnesia: The Dark Descent to this bundle or GOG gets it, I foolishly passed on getting the older bundle it was in.

I always do a 20% devs, 60% charity, 20 % HB distribution. For me that seems fair.

But it is your choice not to use Steam. It's not like your blacklisted by Valve. (AFAIK)

If they had put on the store front upfront a notice saying "This game will not be supported past this release." things would have been better. As is the game you buy and download from Desura has links in game for you to purchase character DLC that just takes you to the game's steam page. (info taken from the reviews on the Desura page.)

So from the start, they knowingly sold a version they weren't going to support. If they knew they weren't going to bother supporting the DRM free version any further they could have disabled those. Instead they leave them as a nice "Oh hey, you bought the wrong version of the game! Re-buy it here so you can buy more DLC from us!"

If all you care about is getting it DRM-free then it is available direct from the devs with very little DRM. Just have to type a CD-key on install, verifies it offline. It's also on Amazon, but no idea about the DRM.

But don't you get the Steam keys with the DRM free version? It was the case with the bundle and many developers give out Steam keys for free, as they don't cost the devs any.
