Nice to know, our police officers are making sure the streets are safe from magical snow cave dwelling gnomes.
Why waste money going after gangsters, serial killers and rapists when there is a greater threat, right? It would be funny as hell if the police officer who discovered the snow cave went missing then later they find him in there, getting high and eating crackers with those 3 guys. It would be like that scene from Cheech & Chong's Up In Smoke.

The disco ball on the roof had me rolling.
Does not seem like probable cause to me. Just because someone enters a snow cave, does not mean they're up to no good. Perhaps, they were finding the cure to cancer in there. A good lawyer needs to get on this one pronto. Besides, I always hated the disorderly conduct BS. Just because you are walking around under the influence should not be a crime.
This sounds like it happened locally, but I didn't think we had enough snow recently for people to build a snowcave.

If the laws are similar to here, the key would be it's not a private dwelling and as far as one can tell from the description in the article, it wasn't on private land. Therefore there's no expectation of privacy. So probable cause isn't a factor.

*edit* But seriously... a disco ball. The cop should have given them a pass just for the total awesomeness of that alone.

Awesome, thanks for sharing. That's some highly creative partying right there!
That must have been up here.

I've never seen that specific type of décor but there are two colleges here and there are tunnels and 'dens' all over the place. They also build giant snow/ice castles but those are an actual school competition so hanging out in them smoking up tends to be frowned on, well that and the ROTC wins it every year and I can't see those guys kicking back with a bong..
Definitely my kind of peeps. Good find!

Well, except for my final two sentences. Disorderly conduct is a BS charge unless you are causing trouble.
