Person purchased a new laptop on Amazon dot com for $1,525.00. At time of purchase, it was stated this was the LAST one in stock at the seller "Be a PC", and was listed as new.
Immediately after purchase, noticed this laptop did indeed disappear from "Be a PC" offers... but only for a day or so. NOW, they have it back up again for sale (link below).
It's been shipped, not yet recieved. The person has asked for advice on whether to open the package up when he gets it or to keep it unopened based on the following:
The price for this same laptop EVERYWHERE else is from $200 to $300 or more higher. The cost of the exact same laptop at the exact same site "Be A PC" is now almost $300 higher $1525 vs $1799. $274 if my quick math is correct.
Screenshot below shows his pirce of $1525. Links below show prices at Amazon, including Be a PC's price, ranging from $1799 to $2508 and NewEgg where it's currently out of stock but if you look underneath it shows the price was $1799 there also (as it states it would be $1699 after $100 mail in rebate). Which of course, means this person is getting his for $1425 after he gets his rebate, if he does (ugh, I never have luck at rebates myself).
Person is worred that this is in fact NOT A NEW machine, but more likely a refurbished one being sold as new or at the very least one which was pre-opened and returned (and presumably returned for a reason).
I don't know what advice to give. Do you??
Don't open it yet, contact Be A PC and get an explanation from them??
Don't open it and automatically return it?? (that one seems rather rash to me)
Open it up and look it over and hope that it can be returned after opening with no restock charge if he's unhappy?
Forget all this nonsense, dance a jig at the thought of getting a great laptop at a GREAT price and go party?
Anyone?
