Ever since the update of the website this morning, whenever I download a game, the installer file is missing its icon and extension. I have to manually add ".exe" after it.

Also, the files do not pass Microsoft's SmartScreen by default, while some other more potentially unsafe applications do. Any chance of obtaining a proper digital signature and signing the packages?

It would introduce another security layer, and the users will know that the packages haven't been tampered with.

What browser/os are you using? And witch games did you download? I wasn't able to replicate this problem on any of our office computers.

IE10 on Windows 8, and the games in question were the smallest in my collection, Teenagent and Lure of the Temptress.

Downloading Tex Murphy now... Tex Murphy is alright.

Both of the free games are hosted by Amazon, and Tex Murphy is hosted by Edge Cast. I think I found the problem. In Tex's link, there is &fileExtForIe=.exe, whether there is no such thing in Teenagent's and Lure of the Temptress' links.

EDIT: Are links set to expire after some time?

Adding &fileExtForIe=.exe after the links that use Amazon as the hosting service fixes the issue, and now the files pass Microsoft's SmartScreen perfectly.

By the way, do both Edge Cast and Amazon links expire?

EDIT: Oh, it is all good. The links expire, I was fearing that they don't (which could lead to a serious exploit).

Do they have the .exe extension?

If not, most likely they are hosted on Amazon's servers.

GOG will need to modify the links a bit, for those games hosted on Amazon, by adding &fileExtForIe=.exe or something similar.

Still no icons.

mateusbond: Still no icons.
For which games?

Please list all games that don't have icons.
Empire Earth and Baldur's Gate.
... And now even Fallout's icon is gone...
Is it happening only with me?

Try right click -> properties -> unblock. Then reopen the folder the downloaded installers are located.
Nothing, no good.... But thanks for trying to help me.
