wormholewizards: That mean they're not interested to become active member. Can't help them if they don't want to. By the way, see? You already got 17 rep. 3 more to go. I'm sure you can make it.

GameRager: So lurkers who may just not post alot are less worthy of receiving gifts than more active users? :\
It's open for debatable but i'm sure ne_zavarj know the best. He's the one who created the contest. And by the look of it, it's not easy. We must respect the rules.
As for me, i think the 20 rep is essential. Without it, nobody know whether you're active, lurker or just opportunist. Eg: just pop up for contest and giveaways, without actually buying anything or participating in any discussion here.

Again, why should one have to talk alot here to be considered better/more worthy than those who just keep to themselves? What if they just don't like talking much? :\

Xyem, for example, let's anyone participate in his contests....without worrying if a recipient is an active gogger or not. Many others here who give stuff away also don't check things like this when holding contests.

It'd be like if I held a contest and said anyone who likes Steam or who's rep is above 200 can't enter.

I can't answer you. This is not my contest. But i think i know why you object to this so much.

There's nothing wrong with that, it's your contest after all. :P

Rep 20 is totally fine otherwise it would be open to abuse.

You're just saying that because you have a high rep. ;\

Also I get the keeping the contest from abuse bit, but that could have been accomplished with even a 10 minimum rep. Why 20? Why so "high"?

Thanks for doing this. That's quite a list!

Here's my entry:

Steam profile
Desura profile
GOG username: adambiser
Steam username: adambiser
Desura username: adambiser (I see a pattern! :) )
I joined the j_a_s_c_2011 group.

What denotes an active member at Steam?

ne_zavarj: ...
I can not see any GOG games so this contest is not for me.
But thank you for doing that :)
Entered!

Thanks for the awesome giveaway, though I'm curious...did all those developers really provide you with all those keys for free?! O_o
Furthermore without this rule, it can be easily abused. Let say, i just created couple of account few months in advance. At that time i already predict that somebody gonna make huge giveaways at some point. How do i know that? because i'm already constant lurker for few months and GOG community always generous. When the right time comes, i just PM OP with multiple account. OP cannot suspect anything since there are no rules. My duplicate account is just another trick from my sleeve. I can easily discarded it at some point
Conclusion, higher chance for me (with my duplicate accounts) to win free games.

Edit: 20 make you work your butt more compared to 10. So it's really easy to spot whether somebody decided to spam the board just for sake of getting more post count, and more rep.

Yes it is open to abuse but most here don't do that. Even spammers don't abuse the system and many here don't set a rep limit on their contests and still don't have contest abuse trouble.

Heck I had alts long ago and I never used them in contests. :\

Edit: And I lost a rep....oh well. (My REP fluctuates alot...another reason why that statute of this contest rubs me the wrong way as being unfair.)

Hi all and thanks to ne_zavarj for nice contest ... I have one question. Why this must be only for those who have account on steam "not private"? I know that is your rules, so nothing I can do about it, but could you just describe why people are forced to have it public?

Nobody know for sure and nobody can guaranteed that. This rule served as prevention.

It still doesn't sit right with me.

Because unnecessary rules everywhere?

I agree the rep should be lower.

With Steam all you need is 20 rep which means you can get enough rep from just a couple of reps from other members because I remember getting 28 rep points for just one of my posts in steam forums..

I think 10 rep would be good compared to steams 20.

high rated
Guys, you did notice you have until Dec 20 to enter, right? You get 1 rep for your first post on each day, so if you have a rep of 6 or more right now, it's still perfectly feasible to get there.

Anyway:
Steam: basilisk
Desura: bazilisek
GOG: bazilisek

Thanks for the contest, ne_zavarj, and happy birthday!
