reaver894: As some of you might have guessed from the late reply it is not good news. Through the day today Saffy took a nosedive health wise. While her blood tests showed nothing overly concerning you could see that she has given up.

She was put to sleep earlier this evening and went very peacefully. She will be deeply missed but overall I think it was the kindest thing to do.

Again I thank you all for your kind words, You all have my gratitude.
I just now found this thread & my condolence for losing a "four-legged member of the family".
It's sad to hear this, reaver894...

Sorry I caught this post late. You have my sincerest condolences reaver, losing a pet is so damn hard. I lost mine just 2 days before thanksgiving, it totally sucks. It's hard as hell being there towards the end like that knowing there's not much you can do to make them better except let them go peacefully.

I know it might be early in saying however there is alot of dogs in need of a good home. As tough as it it when one passes, there are many that would like to be rescued.

I can understand why you would choose not to get another pet, a new pet no matter what the animal type will never replace the loved one lost, ut sometimes accepting another pet into your heart and your family can help to heal the wounds left by the loss.

I would however say that I do not believe it is right to get a new pet only to fill the hole left, but you have to want a new pt and be willign to accept them no matter what traits they bring.
Agreed, loved that little guy. And he could be quite hilarious at times. When he was a baby, he'd hide behind a couch or a chair or something, wait for you to walk by, and playfully attack your leg, usually startled the shit out of me every time he did it. Lol guess you'd have to have been there but it was pretty funny.
Aww, so sorry to hear about your friend :-(

Sorry for your loss, man. Losing a pet is never easy, especially if you have been with it for a long time.
Sorry for your loss reaver! It is a tough choice to make but it is for the best.
