Frankly, if the current trend of people buying their kids tablets/phablets as cheap gaming devices increases and people are doing more and more of their gaming on them, I don't see why GOG wouldn't extend also to the mobile (Android) market. iOS and Windows RT are out of question by default, due to Apple and MS blocking competing digital stores on them.
I recall the old times when I kept hearing the people I know looking to buy some cheap laptop or even desktop PCs for their kids, but nowadays it seems to be just tablets tablets tablets. One relative (kid) is getting a laptop through me, but mainly because I convinced them that for his use maybe a laptop would still be a better option than a tablet. They were originally thinking of a tablet, just because (they didn't really know why, just because). I started by asking that what the kid wants to do with it exactly, and where, and from there I felt a laptop would still be a better option for him. And in the end they agreed.
Maybe next year he will also get a tablet to complement it.
