No, i even tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstall them. This issue has been going for around 3 days now.
I used to have the same problem with a gaming mouse that had very poor quality switches under the mouse buttons. Basically, the contact area between the button and the electrical switch had developed a groove that the button's contact patch sometimes missed entirely (resulting in a regular click), sometimes slipped into after a miss (regular click or double click ) or sank into (nothing whatsoever).

real.geizterfahr: oO Yeah, of course...
I guess if it's forcing some kind of reset or setting in the firmware it needs to be obtuse to stop people doing it accidentally, but it is very weird sounding advice. I admit when the email came back from Logitech support I did ask myself if this was the CS rep's bad idea of a joke.

IanM: 1. Turn off the mouse
2. Remove batteries
3. Press alternatively left and right buttons during 20 seconds
4. Press and keep pressing the left button
5. Replace batteries
6. While keeping left button pressed push 5 times the right button
7. Release left button
8. Turn on the mouse

real.geizterfahr: oO Yeah, of course... Get your left foot behind your right ear, bite into your middle nut (if not available: bite the outer edges of both nuts) and sing "Oh happy day!"
When I read that I almost started singing: "Sie müssen nur den Nippel durch die Lasche ziehn...". ;-)

That's a very famous song by a German comedian that makes fun of such ridiculous procedures.
