Amok what sort of gfx card is in your pc please?

Johnny, Im choosing W3 as a benchmark as Im trying to futureproof the lap top to a certain extent, but don't quite know what it will cost, hence the €800, I could buy one right now for that, or I can start saving towards something more viable or consider financing over 2 years

F1ach: As regards ram, apparently Win 7 cant handle 16gigs so Im kinda confined to 8.
Home Basic cannot, Home Premium can.

I have one of those optimus thingies, so it is a combo of GT 555M and Intel HD 3000. It works fine for my needs, so far there has only been 1 game I have not been able to run on the GeForce GPU (which is Kenshi).

Im with people who suggest just upgrading your current desktop. you are keeping it right?
slap a new gpu, consider adding more ram after TW3 is released if six is not enough and your computer will perform better than most gaming laptops if you have 760 or better gpu. your old i3 is a bit of an issue but not really that big. maybe you can get a second hand i5 for your mobo for 40EUR or so.
One advice (actually two :p)

DO NOT BUY a gaming laptop because their life span is really short, they are waaaay to expensive plus you will have less space to upgrade or replace hardware.

Wait until you know W3 specs before purchasing anything. In 9 months current cards will be cheaper by 100-200€/$, new cards will come out, maybe you can get W3 free if you purchase a certain GPU.

Also assembly your own pc, forget about dell alienware. They are are good but too expensive and you they have good gpu's but weak cpu or high HDD space but low ram or vice versa. Putting your own pc together is really easy and those shops ask 100-150 for it. I put my own desktop together about two years ago and it was my first time. After watching youtube video's and video's specifically related to my brand of cpu/gpu/dekstop case, I managed to assembly it in 6 hours....

I am sure better prices can be found else where besides the stores linked there, it is just for reference list regarding which laptops are currently optimum for running graphically demanding games.
If I was getting a new laptop today, I would probably go for something like this:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/MSI-GE70-2PC-037UK-17-3-inch-i7-4700HQ/dp/B00J2PLK3A/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1402748939&sr=1-2&keywords=msi+gt70
Last time the subject came up, the ASUS laptops were the most recommended. I ended up going for an MSI with an nVIDIA GTX 780M chip, as it was a tad cheaper and had Windows 7 which I preferred, but I still ended up paying closer to €1400.

If you're buying it with The Witcher 3 specifically in mind then you probably don't need the laptop right now, wait a while.
That's an aweome link Amok, cheers, it shows all the components so I can make an informed selection, thanks again! :)

Amazon lets you narrow down search results by selecting the components you want. Click on Computers & Accessories and then on Laptops, you can then pick on the left side all the specifics you want (brand, screen size, memory, etc).

I'd personally recommend waiting until the system requirements come out before making a decision on that, probably not very helpful.

Yes but it does give me an idea on what to look for in the meantime :)

Thanks Gonchi, I hadn't noticed that, cheers :)

Their price seems to be valid, but it was pointing to an extended setup with 24GB RAM, dual hard drives etc. Anyway, just wanted to point out that those "starting prices" in that list should be taken with a grain of salt. Or alternative, is that really the cheapest ASUS G750JZ configuration in US (with Geforce GTX 880M, which I think is the fastest non-dual laptop graphics chipset today, or at least close to it).

It was a bit odd that the specs on the notebookcheck page state 8GB RAM, but the link to Amazon has a 24GB RAM setup. Still, useful list to see for what kinds of specs to look for.
