Looks to offer a variety of different game play segments.

Quite interesting and if I can get the demo to run will probably pick up tomorrow.

If you visit this link also check out Fist Puncher in the Alpha Funding section.
Might consider it but ten is a bit much for an Alpha because sometimes Alphas never
get finished.
Dying of Infections: The Game
I remember this game was supposed to be browser-only, right? Glad they've decided to make a standalone version of it.

Yup, I've played the demo (and just made a purchase a few minutes ago) It's stand alone...w/ the Desura client however (obviously).

Some developers are starting to offer browser-based demos for their games and a few people, including myself, have yet to get browser based demos to run - The demo for this on Desura works stand alone through the client so if you had issues previously you might want to try the demo again.

Lol, sort of and I can see where this game has the potential to become tedious and repetitive but the bit that I've played, demo-wise, was pretty interesting.

Reminds of that old RPG on here called 'Darklands.'

If only I could use both crowbars in battle. It would make killing dogmen a lot easier...
Very cool... thanks!
This looks awesome. I'll have to try that out when I get a chance.
Played my first game earlier. Not sure if there's a save feature or not or if this is following the current trend of perma-deah Rogue-Likes.

Will say that the game play is original enough to feel fresh.
There's more to take into consideration with every move you make and progression during key moments is like a Which-Way book.

Note: The following is a minor spoiler for the first five minutes of the game ( a process that you'll repeat with every new game you start that isn't affected by procedural generation).

For example, during demo play I immediately ran from the monster coming down the hall at the beginning in the laboratory and escaped into the outdoors.

During the run I attempted today, I stood and confronted it. Although the face-off left me bleeding afterwards it did manage to score me a first aid kit which doubled as an I-Pad holder (just in case the game becomes technical to the point where rain can hurt your I-Pad ).

So far NEO is a very nice break from a lot of the other cookie cutter games currently going around.

The fact that it's still in Alpha shows however.

I never died of infections. It was the raiders and dogmen that always did me in. I have learned that you get quite a few anti-biotics as well as clean rags that you can use as makeshift bandages. Also, pick up all the scrap pieces of paper and read them until you see a new recipe show up in your known recipes section in the left side of the inventory.

I actually like how you can make various things in the game, I just wish I lived long enough for my character to actually find the necessary materials to make this cool sounding stuff :D.

Yeah, well I didn't have any antibiotics or clean rags when I had infected wounds, all I had was painkillers (which keep you from dying but don't solve the actual infection) and dirty rags, but never any alcohol to clean them with (as I understand that's how you make clean rags). I kept getting into fights with looters, but even if I killed them I ended up wounded and died shortly thereafter from infection.

Also, I've noticed that drinking any old water you find is not a good idea (I think you need to boil it with pot+fire to sanitize it), I thought it was a bug in the beta version, but I drank some water and shortly after my character became dehydrated down to one-bar really quick. Then he dropped dead of cholera.

Amazing game though, I pre-ordered, the realism and survival aspect are the best I've seen since Robinson's Requiem. I was also reminded of the travel map in Fallout, with the random encounters.
i folded and bought it, couldnt resist, its got some broken bits, and the UI is clunky, and theres a whole lot of content that NEEDS to be added over time if its to improve, but i do genuinely like it alot. the concept of it and the main meat of the gameplay were really attractive to me.

its very hard though.
THIS looks interesting.
I hope they bring it to either GG or GOG though. Desura's client is too quirky for me. Had a struggle with it when I tried to install the Xenonauts alpha.
get it straight from bluebottlegames, no need for a client.
