Bluekkis: ...
My only problem is time.. I already have over dozen games I've bought over past year and haven't had time to play even half of them. And GOG just keeps on bringing interesting additions to my collection... :(

I don't see that as a problem. Just do what I do, keep buying and stack them on the shelf. Even if you don't get to play it due to too many other games, at least you've still got a very nice looking virtual shelf ;D
Very nice release, Ithink it's best of all EE series...
i used to play age of empires alot is this any good??

Well, if by "any good" you mean "like Age of Empires", then more yes than no. It also features extensive base building, resource collecting and other well-known features, but has a more epic scope (for example, more ages, and -at times- significant differences between them). I *think* if you liked that game you'd be well off with this one as well.

Oh that's just great. Go on then, GOG, have yet more of my hard-earned cash.

Zeewolf: Ok, this is the fifth real time strategy game released in a row... can we get some variation, please? :-)

You have a lot of variation in the RTS games though. In fact I personally wouldn't class The Nations or Knights & Merchants as RTS... more Settlers style empire building and town management. And Ground Control is more Real Time Tactics. And Evil Genius is more like Dungeon Keeper (which is nothing like an RTS).
Technically, all involve strategies in real time, but i'm not sure they are what we traditionally think of as RTS games.
Great game, though I got it with a magazine I bought years ago. Can't say I've played enough of it, really.
You guys realize you could get away with this being $10, damn what a steal at $6!
I couldn't believe it when you announced EE coming to GOG, and at this price? I'm an avid Age of Empires I & II Player and fan. While this game may not present itself as sexy and indepth (focusing on one time period) as the Age games it still has pretty challenging gameplay and includes all possible ages our civilisation had to go through.
Also countless hours of fun with the map editor ;)

DrIstvaan: Quite a nice game, if you don't mind the VERY slow game play (it takes helluva lot of time to produce enough resources to build a decent base+army, and another lot to advance in ages).
IIRC, it has a surprisingly good AI, which makes it stand out of most other RTS games.

drdark: Are you kidding me? This game received some criticism at the time of release for letting you advance TOO quickly through the ages. It's a fun game and well worth the price though. I also seem to remember the intro had the likeness of several Hollywood actors too.

Start in the later epochs, they take a load of resources to advance. If you start at the stone age, you can advance really quickly.
And +1 on the AI. You have to prepare for a few types of attacks from the get go.
Tip for the new players: populate your warehouses/city centers! That's a new concept for AoE players.
For those who have already downloaded it or planning so...
If you want to make the battles even more epic, you could try this mod, which takes the unit cap to a whopping 13.200 instead of the original 1200.
NOTE: I haven't tried this version yet, as I have only played the vanilla game this far, and have been playing with this mod, but it worked fine.

They earned your hard-earned cash. ;)
Sorry if I came on too strongly with the whole "are you kidding?" thing. Wasn't having a good day and typed in a hurry. Still, as generally agreed, it's a great game, especially at this price.
Did they make 2 or 3 of the Empire Earth series?

Hey, no hard feelings, I never had any ;-).
Indeed, it's a good game, in fact, so good that I also purchased it here (and am somehow enjoying it even more than when I had it on CD).
There are EE 2 and 3. EE 2 is great, but let's just forget EE3 exists, shall we? (Read: it's a shame to the series.)
