wpegg: A person can choose to only redeem part of a gift, so it's just trust that's the problem.

Leroux: Are you sure you get to choose? I didn't know that, I was under the impression that every game from the code that you don't own yet is automatically added to your account if you redeem a code.
I am under the same impression but yet...I kinda think wpegg will know better than me...

OldFatGuy: I don't follow.

I only got one code, not six. (and it was actually seven games, my bad).

Are you saying whenever someone redeems a code with seven games on it they are asked first which one or two they are redeeming and the others remain ok??? Are you sure???

I would think trust wouldn't be an issue because they would be getting a gift to begin with, but I just don't think it works that way. I think whoever puts in the code, it will place all games in that bundle that don't already own on their shelf. Won't it?
You may be right. I must admit I've only ever been on on the giving side, and just observed the effects.

To redeem only one game from bundle they need to HAVE already the rest. And then the rest could be redeemed by someone else.

If your bundle has games A, B, C, D, E, F, to redeem only game F you need to have A, B, C, D, E already on you shelf. So if you want to plan such process you will need to know what games they already have - and also there is a big chance that whole process will be impossible to do.

A few days ago I was redeeming gift code with two games inside - there was no such option to redeem only one.

No, it doesn't work that way. Don't do that. Wait for support to respond.
Make sure the codes don't get redeemed. It's against GOG policy to refund these but they've made at least one exception that I know about, but they cannot do that if the code has been used for anything. It seems everyone does this once...

There is no "choosing". It's one code for the lot. I've already explained the only option he has above.

It really would be nice if one code was generated for each game bought this way. I don't know how hard it would be to implement something like that into their system. Would really be nice rather than having to go back and make multiple purchases.

Yeah, I'm gonna wait for support, and I'm not gonna redeem the code or touch any of the games that are on there that I do own (luckily I haven't downloaded any of the four, which is just blind luck because just last night I was doing a major download and just didn't do any of those four. Luck)

I would like for this thread to die and move off page one if possible but there is one last question that no one has answered.

Should I post the persons I had picked out and the games I had picked out for them so that others who may want to give gifts based on the the giftgiving thread would know they likely have already been taken care of or should I just wait until Monday and if they get taken care of by someone else then I can just find something else to do with the codes???

I feel awful like I'm calling attention to myself with this thread but I've screwed it up so badly now I don't know which route is best to take.

Sorry I misled you, genuine mistake. Don't post names, let support sort you out, then carry on as you were.

It's cool, and thanks, that's what I'm going to do

Please folks, let's let this thread die out now, OK???

I'm going to wait until Monday, see what support tells me, and then go from there.

Have a great weekend everyone. And again sorry for messing this up so badly.

I don't know the likelihood of someone gifting the games you selected to the same people you selected. I wouldn't disclose that information, personally, but if you have reason to believe there is a good chance someone else will swoop in and out-samaritan you, go ahead.

I would suggest prepending the first post with a friendly bold and all caps SOLVED
