JudasIscariot: It's a rather long list. Might take me all night to look through it and double-check :P

Astralogic: Hi, major shmup fan here. Please can you tell me any and all shmups you know of on GOG.com please.
Hey, Astralogic, welcome to GOG! It's really easy to navigate through GOG and find games similar to ones you already like. Pick any game on GOG you like and visit its "game card" page (the main page where you buy the game). Find the section at the top called "genre" and see what they have listed. For example, Raiden Legacy has "shooter / arcade / sci-fi" and these are separate links you can click.

You'll instantly get a list of all the games GOG categorizes by those words. Well, most of them anyway... there are some bugs in this mechanism, but it's a good start.

Here's a link to get you started... http://www.gog.com/games/shooter

Have fun!

Sure it does. You just have to build a robotic paper-search system. You need a webcam, a device powerful enough enough to accurately recognise hand-written text from the doodles on the side and interpret the same in a reasonable amount of time, some motors and plastic/metal/wooden bars for the paper-moving arm, and some programming knowledge to build the necessary software.

Or Lego Mindstorms.

Excellent! Thanks :)
This thread just goes to show we need more shmups on GOG, like and [url=http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/jamestown]Jamestown.
