Anyone know any poker software that you can create your own tourneyments full of computer players. But the computer players play well.

Would like to pratice my poker tournements for my house game but not to play at online poker games.

Thanks...
Well, you can find online games with real players. As far as strictly computers, dig up some old Casino based Videogames. I can't think of anything else though that I actually know of, but I'll check in a while if nobody else chimes in.
Playing online for free against people is not practice since people playing for free they just call every hand since there is no money involved. This is why I want to buy or get free poker computer players so I can get some pratice.

Thanks:)
Poker with computer players isn't ideal either since computers do not behave as humans would. Play against real humans and you'll see that your experience can be way different. It wouldn't be a bad place to start learning the basics of poker though.

If you want to learn to play against human players you could play some freerolls (free tournaments, often for real money) in certain poker sites. Sure there are idiots who go all in first hand or something, but survive the first few deals and it can get pretty competitive.

Or you can put in like $10 or $20 (or whatever the minimum is) and play on the 1/2 cent tables. You shouldn't lose too much and people usually play better because it's real money, even if it's a couple of cents.

You didn't say what skill level you are at, but I would generally advise against playing against computer opponents to learn the game. It is very difficult to program a decent poker AI due to the incomplete information and the psychological component. Generally, computer opponents behave very differently from human opponents, so the practice you get is of limited value against human players.

Playing for real money at micro stakes used to be the best option to gain experience quickly and cheaply, but real money online poker in the US is pretty much dead as of last year. If you are serious about playing against bots, though, I would recommend Poker Academy Pro. It seems to be the best program out there, but it's not free. Don't buy games like World Series of Poker etc., those are not serious games.

Whoa, what happened? I'm not into poker, so I don't follow the news. Some sort of legislation?

The FBI shut down the websites of PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker/Ultimate Bet in April last year. The online servers were shut down shortly thereafter. There is now an ongoing criminal case against the foundes of those sites since they allegedly violated the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (this had always been a gray area legally), but they have also been accused of money laundering and bank fraud. As far as I'm aware, this pretty much completely destroyed online poker in the United States.

This is true. People turn into calling stations in free money games. Hopefully US players will be able to get back into online cash games soon. Good PC hold'em sims are hard to find. And playing poker against and NPC pretty well sucks. Give Stacked a shot if you're that hard up for practice or a game. Or the Hoyle Casino games.

Ah, now I remember. I seem to recall that particular news, but I didn't know FBI hit so hard. Thanks for the info!
