Long or short... hmm... okay, long story...
The semester is coming to an end... May is the last month of it. I have 7 projects to complete, and basically, two of them need to be merged into a single project. I have to make a good database for Database Systems and a web app for Visual Programming and then connect them.
So basically, I was thinking about making something games related, and this idea came on my mind. I'm thinking about making a website where you can register and make a catalog of some sort of your GOGs.
The site will be split into multiple parts. One part would incorporate your account settings, like whether you would like you GOG collection to be public, or your GOG wishlist to be public.
The second part would be the GOG collection section. Here you would be able to, just by selecting the GOGs, to add them to your game collection. By adding them, a page describing the game would be automatically assigned for you. It would hold info for the game, its devs and pubs, links to buy it from GOG, links to the related forum, links to the GOGwiki, if those guys would like to cooperate or something (I'd love to). It would also hold custom installers for the free GOGs, if I can get the permission from GOG to distribute them, if you wish to add those too. It would also have CD / DVD covers, if the guys making those here on the forums allow me to use them.
The third part would be the wishlist, where you could add GOGs you want to buy or be gifted (I'm thinking about adding a checkbox saying PLEASE GIFT ME THIS GAME or something :D). You can make this public, or keep it private.
There could also be a PM / chat part where you can chat with your GOG fellows about anything you like. And I mean anything. You could also post game codes and activation keys, I promise to at least think about not stealing them. :P Anyway, if Barefoot_Monkey would like to help, I'd be so greatful!
I'll try my best to make this possible, remember, this is the first semester that I've done some web dev / database work, so don't expect the next Battle.Net or something.
Anyway, ideas and suggestions are very welcomed! :)
