The worst thing about discussions like this one is the magnitude of the generalizations and biased presumptions made (for an example just look at the title I just gave him in a parodistic manner). Just because I don’t rule out that some assumptions made by religions are valid that means I am religious, deluded, “lost” and what not? Fuck that.

Science admits its wrong all the time. That's part of the scientific process. Sometimes things get blundered, hidden, screwed up, are flat out wrong, but eventually it comes out. Since we've been talking about Mars in another thread, that's a perfect example of this; the John Carter of Mars series, and War of the Worlds, came about specifically because of bad scientific information about the red planet, that was eventually discovered to be wrong.

Science, however, doesn't tend to run around forcing people to do things their way on pain of death, ostracizing, imprisonment, murder, confiscation, murder, etc. How many scientists were known to set fire on a regular basis to people who said they were wrong, after all?
