Lexor: That's what I think. Windows is easy enough interface comparing to DOS :D
Yes , I think why not make things easy since we have to be confined to these squares (Windows) - but actually I have been opposing things like Windows for a long time because it "dumbs down" and the computer programming languages are RAD (drag and drop of squares) where I liked the old fashioned where one could address the screen (row, column) when making in and outputs and one didn't have to spend so much time trying to learn the most basic I/O operations and could use the time doing some really nifty programming..
Just the concept of wanting to do CONDITIONAL in- and out- puts at run time and not wanting the in- out- put to be pre determined and not at a predetermined place causes the mind of people some problems cause these days an interface have to consist of squares rather than one being able to freely addressing the screen....
So I think that while the GUI (Graphical User Interface) is a smart thing and you can get a loft of choices in software then I think that it basically turns everyone into "users" and that alas also programmers to far extend (unless one wants to devote ones entire life to studying the inner workings and enviroment of a PC)
But since it is what we got then why not use it with "the greatest of ease".........
And by the way...... One of the points with the "Wishlist suggestion" were as I have written that I think that the ease uf use is one of the reasons for Steams success and GOG have mainly been for enthusiasts and game nerds and not so much for everybody and I think that a "Steam like" interface for GOGs DRM free games could remedy that to some extend. However after such an act then they also needed an addition of completely other selection of games to satisfy the less game nerdy crowd.... (casual & family games that most people here - at present - wouldn't touch with a ten feet pole).....
But as I wrote (maybe in another "Wish") then GOG perhaps ought to make the GOG experience itself highly configurable so that GOG with resepect to site- and downloader- user experience were able to "satisfy" (and target) a much larger and wider population selection...
If GOG is ever going to get *REALLY* big and successfull then it needs to expand and branch into getting a much larger target audience and that will take some thinking and doing - IMHO.....
