Fenixp: Well I'm pretty damn sure there will be another half-life, it's just a matter of time

Well, they did eventually ship DNF, so I'm guessing that Valve will eventually get around to shipping the next Half-life. Meanwhile the folks at Ubisoft have shipped what like 4 different AC games at this point? Or is that 3 with the next one coming relatively soon?

grynn: I don't believe Bethesda would ever cancel Prey 2, I mean come on, even Brink, Hunted and Rage got released.
I ****in knew!
Makes me even more proud of Epic Games who did not get rid of People Can Fly after Bulletstorm failed to generate any income, just because the Epic Games staff considers the game awesome anyway - so they still support the developers. I thought they had put a sign for all big players in the industry. Obviously that's not the case.
If Human Head stopped working to try and change their contract then they're the assholes, but of course the whole internet will rage at Bethesda anyway.

Bulletstorm Sold almost 1.5 Million on all 3 platforms combined (that's just retail, not counting the DD sales)

I still don't understand why they cancelled the sequel

That's not that good a number for a game that was supposed to be one of the biggest releases of its year. In July 2011 Mike Capps stated that the game failed to "make money for them" - just google "bulletstorm financial failure". I'll take a guess that they barely covered production and marketing costs which must have been awfully high. And in case of AAA games it's really only like the first one or two weeks that determine whether a game was a success or not so the fact that this statement came shortly after the release doesn't matter a lot.
Odd they pulled it as I can pre-order the damned thing.

Does Gamestop just not realize it's been canned?

Ah... nvm. Just read the rest of the thread.

Hey, they finally shipped Prey!
I remember reading about it in a PC Gamer magazine that I had a long time ago. I believe it was the 1996 October edition, I got it off of a friend. It featured a preview on both Deus Ex and Prey (as well as Starcraft. And Screamer, I think. Did you know that the 'Zerg' used to be called 'Zurg'?)
I would rather they disappoint their fans now by taking more time to hone and fine tune the game than releasing it too soon. Thanks for the link.

I wonder actually if Human Head had signed a deal similar to the notorious Obsidian "Get us to 85% + on MetaCritic" deal that they had for New Vegas. Maybe they saw the writing on the wall before Obsidian did, which would possibly explain why they'd go on strike last year (if the article is to be believed).

Still, if you signed the contract you need to complete it, barring injury or death or whatever.
