Hey fellow GOGers,

I wanted to bring everyone's attention to the Kickstarter for Infamous Adventures' newest title, Quest For Infamy.

As you may have guessed, it's a point and click adventure game in the style of Sierra's Quest For Glory series. The game has been in various stages of development for years, but when the team realized the scope of such a large project, they put it on indefinite hold. Since then, IA have released a fantastic King's Quest III VGA version (that more closely resembles Sierra's original than Himalaya's KQ3 Redux), and most recently a VGA remake of Space Quest II.

I want to stress that I DO NOT work for, nor am I associated with IA in any way, shape, or form. I simply grew up playing Sierra games, and became a fan of their efforts to bring classic adventure gaming back. Anyone who feels the same will hopefully be inclined to donate a little to the cause so this game can finally see the light of day! There is a playable demo over at the Kickstarter page to give everyone a taste as well.

Hey, thanks so much! Try the Demo - it's fully playable, features a full Soundtrack, voices, several quests, multiple puzzles and a partride in a pear tree!!!

We've worked really hard on this so far, and I can't wait to get rolling on the rest of the game.

Several of those scenes they showed looked eerily like scenes from Sierra games.
For this project I'm actually glad I can't donate to Kickstarter, because I probably would've done it.

AND on top being cheap too :p
Yeah, guys - sorry about the lack of PayPal for Kickstarter - but if we hit that goal of $25,000, I'll open a PayPal donation link.

Any questions about the game, please ask!

I bet you posted about Quest for Infamy on the RPS forums and got accused of being the developer.

Anyway make a mention of this on the Kickstarter thread, so I won't forget to add it later when I come home.

Actually, I'm not even a member at RPS. I figured GOG was a perfect place to bring it up, seeing as how the QFG games recently got released and the crowd is filled with people who grew up playing games like this.

Even if I were a developer (which I'm not), who cares? As if it's unheard of for a developer to draw attention to their project. That's like saying musicians shouldn't go on tour.

It would be more like a musician hanging posters/flyers of their band on walls and telephone poles and such.. which they do.
I don't mind a bit of self advertising btw, but I don't like it when they pretend to be someone completely unrelated to the project. Like those Sony guys that went around posting about those great new games or something like that.

I hope that is not what is happening here. That is basically lying to people and I hate being lied to. If someone is honestly drawing attention to a project he or she is connected to, I have no problem with that.

Well, I am the writer/director and producer on Quest For Infamy - I'm also an avid gamer, and heh - backer of a couple of Kickstarter Projects myself. I just like to interact directly with the people who would play and back my game.

I don't think that's a bad thing. CynicalMatt, you've been a big supporter of ours, and I really appreciate it. Thanks, man.
