"Speedball2.exe has stopped working"

What the heck, this isn't at all like the Amiga or DOS versions? :)

I guess I need to try it on my other PC too.
Game doesnt work on my pc
Is one of the game modes a classic Speedball 1 mode? I do like all the bells and whistles and pinball table-like extras the 2nd one added but it would be nice to go back to the 'pure' form of play too - as an option

serpantino: Release Date 1990? Surely that's a mistake GOG.... trying to pawn off a remake as a classic :P
avatar
spindown: Yeah, the release date should read 2013, not 1990. This is not a classic release, sorry GOG.

Edit: ... and they just changed it to 2013.
It would be nice if both pieces of information were there really - 'A 2013 remake of a 1990 game' - that sort of thing
I'm thinking of Chaos Engine and Lords of Midnight as well here
And when is GOG getting Archon Classic? Waaa! Archon Classic! Waaa!

timppu: So, how is the title music? Does it resemble either of the two, or something else?

I actually recognized that song from a 3-hour long Amiga music compilation on YouTube also. (An odd thing for me.)

Just makes me wish the OST had been included even more.

Wishbone: To be perfectly honest, I'd have been much more interested in the original, especially the Amiga version.

jamyskis: The DOS port wasn't a bad effort at all though given the usual disparity between Amiga and PC versions of the time. The Amiga music was of course superior and much "meatier", but the game itself on the PC was a fair attempt.
I played the original PC version back in, what, 1993 or so and absolutely loved it! Nice choice GOG. Instabuy!
Looks like a pretty good release, wishlisted for now.
awesome release (loved the original on c64). makes up for the crappy zombie shooter release (no way that was a classic).
anyone know if the original game is included?
the only review is by someone who owns this on smart phone....reviews need to be fixed. extras is....less the said the better.poor effort dev.

I fondly recall the Amiga version. That game was sweet even not my usual style of game. Definitely planning on picking this up next time its on sale.

timppu: "Speedball2.exe has stopped working"
Not even started on win7 64bit... but the same error message :(
Funny thing is, I managed to run it in wine 1.7.7, but it is unplayable because it is too slow :(

PS It is common problem, there are a lot of posts like this on Steam forums, patch is hopefully on the way..

Wishlisted and I might as well dig up the old ps1 while I wait.
Holy cwap - I just read that this version is directed by Jon 'Sensible Software' Hare! *hero worships*
http://www.gog.com/forum/speedball_2_hd/speedball2exe_has_stopped_working waiting for a fix :/
Looks like an interesting game :)
Is this done by the same people who rereleased the chaos engine? If so i will pass, there was more wrong then right with that rerelease....
Im wondering. How did GOG not encounter those problems during testing the game?
