cool, might break out the discs
hmm, I think I know where my disks are, but I can't see that the new fix provides Win7 compatibility :)

Anyone tried it already?
Will it work with non-English versions?
I've been playing SOA with the previous patch for quite some time on Win 7 with no problems, so I 'm sure it's fine. Don't know about non English versions, but the new patch supports German. Otherwise email Steven at the link I provided as he is supporting the game. I'm sure he will answer your question.

Nice... will try to figure out where the discs are at my parents house (hopefully not thrown away)
I immediately bought the big box anthology on eBay for only five dollars upon reading this thread. I'd seen this game many times on various sites and a couple of magazines, but never thought to give it a second glance. Gleaning through some reviews on Mobygames got me very interested. Can't wait to give this a try after my exams.

I bought the game last year for $4, in a local store. It was the only PC game on the shelf. :D
You win sir! Was it the big box version?
Box ? What box ? I only got the CD. lol
It's been forever since I played this game, I may have to give it another go just because there's a new patch.
Anyone facing audio issues when running on Win7 x64 ?

I got this too, it doesn't matter which system you have. The new patch messed up the sounds and music paths for some reason. You have to move the "theme" and "sfx" folders (I can't remember where they were originally, probably somewhere in the artlib folder) to the "audio" folder. Create it if it doesn't exist - it should be where the .exe files are.
Voila - instant music and sounds.
Thanks for the tip. It's working fine now.

In case anyone else tries to get this game working under Windows 8.1, I thought I'd mention how I got it running without any issues. Hopefully it can save someone else the 45 minutes of troubleshooting I went through.

I was encountering massive lag on menus and slow/stuttering performance overall. I fixed this by enabling windows mode (have to edit a setting in Siege.INI, the patch Readme has the details), and enabling "Reduced color mode" at 16-bits in the Compatibility tab of DTMain1.exe. I have to play the game in a window, but I couldn't find a way to get the game running properly fullscreen and it's an acceptable compromise.
