Section 8 (Steam) giveaway
I usually just throw gift codes in PMs but thought I'd do my first semi-organized giveaway in the forums this time just to be different. I just got around to playing <span class="bold">Section 8</span> this last week and just discovered that I have a spare Steam code for the game so I thought I'd offer it in a giveaway. The single player game is short and feels more like a training mission for multiplayer but it's alright. I haven't played the multi-player yet so can't say how exciting that might be.
I should also note that this game contains GFWL DRM unfortunately and Microsoft is rumoured to be shutting down GFWL on July 1, 2014 so the game or features of the game may no longer work in a few weeks. That kind of makes the giveaway a little unexciting I imagine but it's a spare code I have no use for and someone out there might enjoy spending some time with the game so I figured I might as well throw it out into the community for someone interested in playing it even if it is for a brief period of time. There's also a chance that Microsoft leaves the GFWL servers running and the game continues to work also, hard to say as it's just all unconfirmed rumours at this point.
Rules to enter:
1) To enter the giveaway state "BOUGIZUKA" at the top of your post.
2) Giveaway is open to anyone on GOG with an account created in April 2014 or older with a rep of 20 or higher at the time I choose a winner, so if someone is close to 20 they can enter ahead of time if they like but I'll choose a winner from those with 20+.
3) Please enter only if you will be redeeming the game in your own Steam account and playing it right away because the enjoyment of the game might be limited to the next two weeks if the GFWL servers get shut down so it would be a waste to add to someone's library and never play it in that timeframe.
4) I may adjust the rules if there is some useful reason to do so.
The giveaway will be open for at least 24 hours and possibly longer after which I'll pick a winner from eligible entrants at random by rolling Dungeons and Dragons dice in some as yet unknown fashion, or by some other bizarre unusual but original means that I can't disclose in the interests of national security.
Optional participation query: As most people in the forums are likely aware of, GOG will be unveiling their new optional gaming client "GOG Galaxy" later this year which is highly anticipated by many in the GOG community. For those of you who anticipate and plan on using GOG Galaxy client, what specific types of features would you like to see and/or use in the client? Which current GOG games do you look forward to adding GOG Galaxy multiplayer support the most and why? This is just personal curiosity however your answers (or lack thereof) will not affect your chances of winning either way, however I do ask that people please stick to providing positive feedback about what they'd like to see GOG Galaxy become and strongly prefer if people who aren't fans of the client or gaming clients in general please avoid making to negative anti-client doomsday commentary. In short, lets keep it positive and clean folks. :)
