Warning, the links are somewhat humorous but its 50/50 if they are better or worst than the originals.

OK, so after I was linked while playing eve last night it reminded me of an older "redo" of a different song [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnG-3AuYd4U]equally as "unique"'

Both of these examples are from EVE online which some of you may remember spiked a lot of interest after a large fight a while ago (I lost a dreadnought but got on 8 carrier kills \o/) as the largest "loss" of assets in the games history, and with EVE's economy can be reverse calculated into real money value.

Now I personally have not come across any reworks of songs for gaming purposes until I started playing EVE, however the GOG community can surely link me some semi decent ones?
My personal favorite is Rob Balder's "Nethack Song". Particularly since the lyrics reflect a really good understanding of the game. :)

According to Rob's own page, the original song is called "Pepper" from a band called "Butthole Surfers" (which I never heard about).

It evolved out of "Hack", which in itself evolved out of "Rogue", yes. (Though "Rogue" is actually from 1980). For a while, NetHack was one of the main roguelikes in existence. It's still considered one of the major "classic" roguelikes, but hasn't seen further development for a long time (at least not by the original team).

The scary element is how many of those deaths I've experienced myself. ;)

Where the fuck did I get 88 from, Ive been thinking for years Rogue was from 88,
I can't remember anything specific, but this page contains 10 such parodies. Not sure about their quality, though.
New angels of promise by Bowie at the start of Omikron had slightly different lyrics when it was released on his Hours album.

They dropped Omikron from the chorus and changed it to suspicious minds.

Rogue Trooper!
Can't think of anything that has been made, but I would like to hear some hardcore point'n'click fan to remake KISS's Lick It Up as Click It Up, a song about fetch quests and stuff.

That's miles better than the original song, thanks.
Ministry reworked their song So What for Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, the new version was titled Bloodlines.
Dang, in 2005 I heard a hilarious German cover version of Frank Sinatra's "My Way" about camping in Counter-Strike. Sadly I'm perfectly unable to find any trace of it online. While searching for it I found this thing though:
Camper Song

I guess that qualifies, right? :p
