Now includes the Trains DLC!

Battle Worlds: Kronos, a deep turn-based strategy game with very modern looks paired with old-school mechanics and hex-based presentaion, is available 50% off on GOG.com. That's $14.99 for an entire week.

If you're an old-time military strategy gamer, Battle Worlds: Kronos will bring back many of your fondest memories. The playfield alone, divided into countless orderly hexagons, looks irresistibly familiar. Time-proven turn based mechanics allows for careful planning and provides room for the cleverest of stratagems. We're not big on the term "spiritual successor", as it is widely overused by modern game designers, but this is the spiritual successor to the classic Battle Isle series, if we've ever seen one. In this ambitious title, two single-player campaigns provide up to 30 hours of challenge and satisfaction, further extended by special maps and--of course--multiplayer modes, including the evergreen hot-seat option. Pair that with visuals absolutely perfect for a mid-range Sci-Fi strategy game, and what you get is a title no armchair general could possibly resist.

Ever since the original release in November 2013 the KING Art Games team is working to expand and improve the gaming experience of Battle Worlds: Kronos. Today marks the addition of the free Trains DLC to the game. Here's what's new!

Battle Worlds: Kronos update and Trains DLC factsheet

Bring order to the chaotic and dark times of the succession wars and lead humanity to victory--well, a part of humanity at least--in Battle Worlds: Kronos, for only $14.99 on GOG.com. The special 50% off offer lasts until Thursday, May 29, at 8:29AM GMT.

Trilarion: Thanks for adding the DLC to the regular game. There should be a special name for such kind of nice DLC..

JudasIscariot: FreeLC ? :)
As in Freeloadable Content? Meh ;-) I would prefer just to call it an expansion! Seeing the extent of new additions I'm sure it deserves that name. 15-hour long new campaign? What is it if not an expansion?!
I'm so happy and grateful to KingArt Team for their hard work and I'm glad I backed them on Kick Starter. The game is good, yet hard and involves quite a bit of thinking and save/load/save/load routine. Anyway, my backlog is big but hopefully I will finish this unique game by the end of this year.
nice dlc and free is even better

Russonc: I'm very tempted....Has anyone played it recently and is it truly improved (initial reviews scared me away..)

edit - I was especially put off my comments that many scenarios were only beatable one way...
Don't know if you're still undecided about getting the game or not, but give this let's play video a look and see if it looks interesting to you. It helped me decide. :)

Don't get me wrong, I like this game and have played Battle Isle. But I wonder why is there no real good RTS competition to Starcraft. I hope we'll see some endeavor in that genre as well.
Just to be clear, I am not complaining at all.

But on steam it seems the game was lowered to $20 base price, while on gog it is still $30. Im not quite sure why?

More importantly, is anyone here a fan of the old advance wars gameboy games? :) If so, how does this compare?

Thanks :)

The let's player in the video i linked two posts above mentioned it is similar to Advanced Wars. I can't really confirm that though, since i never played that game.

The base price is actually 22£ (30$ converted from euro to dollars) on steam. 18,39€ (25$) during the sale. That is a pretty terrible price compared to gog's 15$ sale. :P

RabiatorG0G: Typo-alert: 2013 ;)
Aww I thought GOG went beyond releasing classic games and giving us ones from the future.

Some time ago Kingart games lovered the regular price for Battle Worlds Kronos on Steam and Gamersgate to 19.99$ for US buyers. Since the game is regionally priced on Steam, there are following regional regular prices there at the moment: 14.99 pounds and 19.99€, all discounted at the moment to 15.99€ or 15.99$ and 11.99 pounds. Bear in mind that the price here is one world, fair price and that why its higher which is not bad. If the price is to big for you at the moment wait for a bigger discount thats all.
