Jack is Life! Jack is Love! The Keaning is happening!

Most sales are just that: some nice deals, tons of games, some flowery marketing talk about those deals. Nothing more, nothing less. As you know, last year we ran our Fall Insomnia Promo with the usual expectations that follow a typical sale.

The Insomnia Promo was different. Very, very different. It morphed into something beyond our wildest expectations. Entire communities were staying awake for this sale. The RPG Codex was busily snapping up and all classic RPGs. 4chan's very own /v/ put aside their usual bickering about which console was best and started trying to find The Pattern (sorry guys, you didn't crack it :^) ). Meanwhile, Jack Keane acquired a cult following (JACK IS LOVE! JACK IS LIFE!) all the while collecting a flurry of 5 star reviews where gamers documented all sorts of miraculous manifestations of Jack's blessing in their lives. Lastly, the Insomnia promo garnered its own entry on our [url=http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/the_return_of_the_insomnia_sale]wishlist.

Welcome to our Spring Insomnia Sale! Back by popular demand*, we will be putting up 100 games in limited quantities** with discounts up to 90%. We'll have more games for sale than Noah had animals in his ark. Indies. Classics. Classic indies, even. All kinds of games for all kinds of gamers. However, you have to be fast, faster than those Polish script kiddies*** lurking outside our offices so they can get 0.1 ms of ping!

We did change things up a bit this year. While checking out, keep an eye peeled for a random chance to get a free game. Yes, this time there will be no more split second freebies so everyone has an equal chance :)

*why would you do this to yourselves, you mad fools?!?!
**yes, we know that all games are being distributed digitally and quantities can be infinite, just roll with it, ok?
***it was a common theory that all the free games were being snatched up by Polish hackers. We don't have any hackers here in Poland, we deported them all...somewhere...

Crewdroog: I so have this stuck in my head now.

The_Blog: Oh yeah forgot about that.
Although it is always nice to have a DRM-Free Version.
OH WAIT! I DO have a DRM-Free Version. In my Humble Library :D
Well looks like I already served in this aspect ^^

innocuous77: Now you guys are making me consider FTL... you're better than GOG's marketing department! (... unless you ARE GOG's marketing department... hmmm...)
More of a cheerleader than a marketer....a burly, hairy, wild-eyed cheerleader. =)

budejovice: LOL. I'm spending way too much on games to be part of gog. :)

But really, FTL is tops.
Absolutley xD
I feel like sometimes I'm just buying games because I wanna buy them, not because I wanna play them.
This may sound VERY weird now but thes last 3 days have been a bit like a drug trip with constant community interaction. Buying stuff. Looking out for games, trading, looking out for games other people want. And it is/was a great fun. I sacrificed a bit sleep without any hesistation for the fun I had in the last 4 days :D

That's why I adore this sale - this old dog can learn new tricks without killing my budget. Of course, now I have to find the time to play all these cool games...

To flesh out my comment: It's definitely hard, but I'm no computer game whiz. Games take maybe 2-3 hours if you make it to the end. And you won't make it to the end the first 10 or 20 times you play. I still play on Easy over half the time.

If you buy it, just know that the way to approach the game is to use pause during combat. Liberally.
45 minutes, 133 sold, there's some hope of Krondor before dawn :)

Great advice. I haven't played a space sim in over 20 years, so this should be quite the education. I expect to find very interesting ways to die...

I wouldn't really call it a sim though.

Hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as many of us do. But you'll get $3 worth out of it either way. :)
Listening to "Through the Fire and Flames" to keep me awake.
And man that is definitly working. The music is so fast D:

And I'm done work until Sunday mid-day. FLT is still up to surprise my friend with. Missed out on Shelter for him yesterday. Trying to negotiate for another game as well. :)

I'll be up at least until tomorrow morning (about 10 hours for me), or the sale ends. Whichever comes first.
