So I'm playing through it and decide to get the Booster powerup, while trying to equip it on my ship, the stupid thing interprets my click and drag as a double-click and auto-sells it without confirmation.

The best part is, I'm too early in the game for anyone to sell it, so I can't get it back.

Short of using the cheat to open up all items for sale, is there a way to get the damned booster? And if I DO have to use the cheat, is there a way to disable it once I've gotten my use out of it?

Any ideas?
Never even heard of this game.

In summary: Bruce Campbell in space.

I really adore space combat type games, and Tachyon fits the bill. The only trouble with exposure is how Novalogic seems to be so pro-Steam (and if the game's forum there is any indication, it doesn't get much love).

I have! Haven't played it in YEARS though, have it on Steam will MAYBE get to play it again before the end of time / my life whichever comes first, depends on what Random.org has in store for me
Getting near the end of Crimson Skies in my 'Vehicle Combat genre' slot at the moment...

Off topic: How is Crimson Skies? I have it lying around but am not sure if it gives me a Steam key (as loathe as I am to admit it, having it on an online account is far my convenient than dragging a box around).

Noooo Crimson Skies predates Steam by quite a way and you have to hunt out some community patches to get it working properly on modern hardware, nVidea cards work better, for ATI, like mine I have to go with the software renderer and hack the reg to make it play at a higher res in software than it was designed for, even then the draw distance is still a bit short

Worth it though - great game! There was a beefed up sequel that was original XBox only if you have one of those kicking around...
In case anyone was interested, apparently the "available to sell all" cheat deactivates after the next time you leave starbase, so no harm done when using it to just get that powerup.
I wish both of those games could be on GOG! Here are the wishlists:
Tachyon: The Fringe
