The purpose of this thread is to give folks that value rep points a little boost in their totals. If you'd like some rep, post here and be sure to upvote as many others that do as well. I'm probably asking for trouble (and downvotes) by posting this but what the heck.

That is not a good idea. Whenever people start messing with the rep system, some angry poo-flinging ensues. Rep is just a meaningless number, it's best to simply ignore it.

Historically, trying to game the rep system has been one of the fastest ways to make your rep take a significant hit. Plus, as others have mentioned, the rep under your avatar is just a meaningless number- your actual reputation here will be formed by how you choose to interact with the rest of the community, and threads like this aren't doing you any favors on that front.
