Continuing the birthday giveaway that started Here, today I have up for grabs a copy of Rune Classic.

RULES:

No rules today. Everyone welcome, anyone can play! (yes, you can enter on someone else's behalf - but you still have to follow the requirements!)

Requirements today: Vikings! Post I'm in (please bold it so I can see it easily) and a Viking-related pic, some info, a name, whatever. Let's see your inner Viking! Once again, random.org will do the honors.

I'll announce the winner when I hit the forums tomorrow morning.

Incoming viking pic is Odin. That name carries an impact just by hearing it & also his son is Thor.

hummer010: I'm definitely in for Rune Classic!

I'm in for hummer010
:D

I can't believe no one's yet mentioned Eric the Red. RAWR! XD
I'm in as well !

Now Vikings... Hm, there are so many things to say about them. I find them cool (although I surely wouldn't want them raiding my homeland or something). Or rather perhaps I find them "exotic" (I always found Celtic and Viking stuff interesting- I dunno why, but then History in general always interested me...)
I was going to mention Wickie the Viking, but as it was mentioned already, I'm going to go for something else. How about a picture from King of the Dragon Pass? It's Viking themed and all and I also highly esteem the quality of all the artworks present in the game.
And as I started with the posting, I'll also post a pic of some Varangi-they were guards in the Byzantine Empire and are believed to be Vikings from different areas-although mostly from Russia.

Thanks for hosting this giveaway, Coelocanth, and +1 !

I'm in for hummer010.

Final Fantasy has lots of Viking references from Odin, Ragnarok, Gilgamesh, Valhalla, and Sleipnir. Here is a screenshot from the latest FF I'm playing with a Viking reference.

I'm in for GreenDigitalWolf just to give hummer010 a fair fight.
:-)

I hope a picture of Thor counts. It seems Marvel is planning some changes to the character.

I was also reminded of this:

====
Coming to America
813 A.D.

They navigated the green sea by the stars and by the shore, and when the shore was only a memory and the night sky was overcast and dark they navigated by faith, and they called on the all-father to bring them safely to land once more.

A bad journey they had of it, their fingers numb and with a shiver in their bones that not even wine could burn off. They would wake in the morning to see that the rime had frosted their beards, and, until the sun warmed them, they looked like old men, white-bearded before their time.

Teeth were loosening and eyes were deep-sunken in their sockets when they made landfall on the green land to the West. The men said, "We are far, far from our homes and our hearths, far from the seas we know and the lands we love. Here on the edge of the world we will be forgotten by our gods."

Their leader clambered to the top of a great rock, and he mocked them for their lack of faith. "The all-father made the world," he shouted. "He built it with his hands from the shattered bones and the flesh of Ymir, his grandfather. He placed Ymir's brains in the sky as clouds, and his salt blood became the seas we crossed. If he made the world, do you not realize that he created this land as well? And if we die here as men, shall we not be received into his hall?"
