From the guys who made ICO and Shadow of the Colossus comes http://www.giantbomb.com/the-last-guardian-debut-trailer/17-859/.
I have to agree with http://penny-arcade.com/comic/2009/6/8/, and I'm not sure how well I'm going to take it. I mean, look at it! It seems like it's going to be one of the most powerful experiences ever, maybe even more powerful than Shadow of the Colossus was!
I never played ICO or Shadow of the Colossus...
I've also never had a PS2, so I guess that covers it.
Is this new one gonna be available for us PC gaming types?
NO WANT DYING GRYPHON OR KID!!!
Want beautiful game though... on computer, not console.
Now THIS is a console seller.

As already said in another topic, I really doubt it will ever come to PC, ICO team work for Sony, and as said by ElPixel, it is a console seller.
I would surely be tempted to buy a PS3 just for this one... and FFXIII...
little boy characters never die, except in pay it forward
the griffin is screwed
Quinn: A friend of mine pointed out he will NEVER play it, because the beast will die.
Gwilym: yeah it seems that way
Gwilym: but perhaps they got that out of their system with shadow of the colossus
Gwilym: if they were REALLY ballsy they'd subvert it and have the kid die saving the creature
Gwilym: and then you control the creature for the rest of the game
Gwilym: that would be amazing in so many ways
Gwilym: but... ballsy

I think the kid should die. It would make for a powerful ending for the griffin to lift the boy's carcass on his back, tears in eyes, and ride off into the world.
Shadow of the Colossus was amazing in the way it *SPOILERS AHEAD* made you kill off those perfectly innocent giant creatures, and made you feel it every step of the way. As you slaughtered the last one, you could see how your character paid for your actions, and you felt like throwing your controller to the fan and yelling, "Damnit, no! I knew this would happen!" *END SPOILERS* The music, gameplay, and storytelling all came together in a way that games often don't. It was a beautiful fable, and I can't wait to play the next one.
Which reminds me, I need to get a copy of ICO. eBay to the rescue!
Edit: Oh, Jesus, no eBay. $80? Damn! Anyone got a copy they would part with for $20 or $30?

If the rest of the Icoverse is anything to go by, they'll probably both die.
This and Heavy Rain make me want to get a PS3.
Is this Project Trico?
Have never owned a console and at this rate probably never will .
Interesting enough I use to keep a list of games I would get IF I should ever get a PS/2 Shadow of the Coloussus was one of them. In the same vein "The Last Guardian" looks cool, but if its not available on PC ... its not going to happen.
Frankly I don't have time for another game platform and Sony in particular has alienated me.

Yes.

tacitus59: and Sony in particular has alienated me.

Why? I've been a longtime PS2 guy, and while I got a 360 and waited for a few years to get the PS3, I've found it to be a much better system. And with titles like LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Heavy Rain (Don't mention Gran Turismo, I despise that series), I don't see how they've abandoned their core market at all. Same goes with Microsoft. And while you can't say Nintendo's been focusing on their core market, they've tried to throw a couple of bones to the die-hard fans. Overall, I'd say Sony is trying to be the most faithful to their fanbase, while Microsoft, relatively new, doesn't really have to worry about that because the group they have a hold of seem relatively friendly to change. However, with Nintendo, many fans are angry about not being the center of attention, with the focus of the giant instead directed towards the uninitiated, the people who would never play games.
Sorry for throwing a giant wall of text at you.
