Yes.

The Witcher is an excellent game and does well even now.
you're asking if you should spend $5 on a game universally acclaimed as one of the best RPGs in recent memory and which many of us bought at several times that amount and never once regretted it?
Even if you consider all the things people complain about - at $5 it is a steal. Go and get it.

ohbear: I decided to ask this in the general discussion, rather than the witcher forums, since I thought it would be filled with people who liked it, but wanted an honest opinion from everyone else.

Is it worth the $5? I know, it's not much, and some of you might be saying "Just don't buy that frozen pizza you were thinking of buying fatty" or that it really isn't much unless you are poor, but lately I have been giving in LOADS of little things that actually have added up. And buying this would only help my bad habit.

I am into RPG games if that helps, I like games similar to the fallout series, enjoyed some of the elder scroll games. However I also have a backlog of a good 40 other games, so would you think if I played that, I would get into it and might even stick into finishing it?
I played it for one or two hours and played other stuff then. It is worth buying if you like that kind of RPG probably, but it also takes a lot of time to get into the game, i.e. the tutorial section (which includes a lot of story elements already, i.e. does not feel like they just added it in front) takes around those two hours.

I will need to get back to the game again.
It's not exactly among my favourite RPG's, but it was good enough to be worth the $5 anyway.

EDIT: Actually, that's a bit unfair. It's definitely one of the best fantasy RPG's I've played - I'm just more into science fiction. Be prepared for a huge time investment if you do get it.

I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, I want to say yes. On the other, Fuck Yeah.
