In my opinion , this is the first occurence of the 'Game of Throne' syndrome. The movie is great and the novel is too, but they don't have much in common, plot aside - and the plot is not the reason why those are great.

I think we've already seen something like Blade Runner 2 in both Cloud Atlas & Prometheus. Maybe it should just be left at that, I'm open to a sequel but it's difficult to imagine a new film measuring up to the old one. I'd definitely go watch it at the theaters though.

That is so NOT the Director's Cut. Only the Theatrical Cut had the narration, all subsequent versions (Director's Cut 1992 and the aptly titled Final Cut 2007) didn't use it, because everybody except the suits hated it.

Do yourself a favor and watch the Final Cut.

Off topic, but that movie sucks. I'm of course I'm referring to the Robin Williams one, though some people loved it, which I guess is a beautiful thing, our differences.

Funny, I actually just finished watching the original theatrical release today before I watch the director's cut later this month.

I don't get how they could make a sequel with him. He's too old now.

Skip the Director's Cut and go directly to the Final Cut. It's the Director's Cut done right. Where does it say that a Blade Runner sequel must pick up exactly where the first one left off? The original was set in 2019...that was 30 years ago, so just set the sequel in 2040-ish and you're fine...

I don't know how to feel about this. Scott hadn't been bringing his A-game for a while now, so I'm wondering if it'll end up just as Prometheus (as an example): technically excellent but the actual execution of plot/characters/dialog being below the mark.

Considering how much has changed in movie making land since the first Blade runner was made, I don't think a quality sequel can even be made. Whatever they make, it will be fundamentally different, even if it will be "made" in the same way. Two generations of craftsmen just don't work the same.

Harrison Ford is going to be in it? Oh Blade Runner fans weep, weep hard like your brothers, the Indiana Jones fans still do.

what's the difference between the directors cut v final cut?
I didn't mind the voice over in theatrical version, although admittedly I did enjoy the directors cut better.
I think Harrison ford might be able to pull it off although he is getting on
