That would be Philadelphia as they had the fewest wins and are 8th. The lowest seeded team to win the championship was 6th with the 1995 Houston Rockets, so I would say the weakest team which actually has a chance at winning is Boston.

Totally. Boston still has Kevin Garnet, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Rajon Rondo. Quite a talented foursome. EDIT: Wasn't it San Antonio who were the lowest seeded team to win championship? (1999, S. Antonio won and I believe they were in the 8 seed.)

The Knicks were 8th and they became the lowest seeded team to make it to the finals. The 1999 season was cut short due to a strike so they only played about 50 games but SA was killing it that season regardless with a .740 win percentage. The Duncan-Robinson duo was unstoppable and back then you could make references to the Two Towers.
So go Philadelphia then.

especially since my childhood friend lives there.

If newyork isnt healthy then id say philadelphia is better. If lin comes back and plays like he did before then i guess anythings possible.
Likewise, if boston's big 4 is healthy i expect them to make at least 1 big upset (like chicago or miami). If rondo is hurt then theyr toast.

I don't care about basketball but I know from living in Philadelphia that the Sixers suck and it's cool to see them in the playoffs. Go Sixers!

Boston won last night without Rondo against Orlando and Orlando has Dwight Howard. I call him Dwight "Blockward".

I think the Spurs are gonna take it. I am a bias, die-hard spurs fan who rates Tim Duncan only behind MJ in the conversation for the greatest players of all-time. That being said, Pop has done a masterful job of giving the young guys some experience, Jackson was a nice pickup and they're gonna be going into the playoffs with Home-court, health and experience. A lot of teams are banged up and the Spurs, through excellent personnel management have been able to navigate this short season relatively unscathed.

The Spurs have really surprised me this season. I had assumed that they were finally turning the corner of being a little too old to keep going at an elite level, now I find myself hoping and praying that the Spurs can be knocked out before the Thunder meet up with them in the playoffs. Aside from the Spurs, I like the Thunder in a 7 game series against any team.

I agree on the Thunder front, they have a great squad. I think a big factor in the Spurs getting knocked out last year was that Manu was injured. He wasn't right so they pretty much had to rely on Parker and Duncan alone. This year Manu is healthy (hopefully no ill effects from that collision the other night) and Pop has really done a masterful job of managing Duncan's minutes. Duncan, is also quietly having a great season, with his numbers up across the board from last season. Not to mention the new blood like Leonard, Mills and Jackson, as well as the continued development of Blair and Splitter. If it's not the Spurs I hope it's the Thunder.

As for the East, I have to pick Miami. Rose and Deng have been too injured this season and if they drop to the #2 seed and face Knicks, the Bulls could be facing an early exit. My darkhorse pick for the east finals is the Pacers, but that will of course depend on where Miami finishes. Should be a good playoff and Orlando is pretty much going to get swept or be done in 5 now that Howard is shut down.
