playing basketball today I tore the AC joint in my shoulder. Has this happened to anyone else and if so how long until you were completely healed?
Unless it requires surgery, up to 3 weeks is the expected healing time. Depending on your age and physical state in general it may take less.
It's class 1 so luckily no surgery was needed. Very close to a class 2 they said though.
Oooh nasty stuff. Definitely take it easy till you're sure its back to 100%, thats the kind of thing you don't want to push
yeah it hurts a ton. sleeping will prove to be difficult.
That does suck. I've never personally did that to my arm, but I did completely dislocate it playing baseball. Fun... Wish you good health!
Aw that sucks. You should try out some supplements too to help your joints recover. I'm no expert on supplementary diet, but you can ask on forum.bodybuilding.com for advice. Just keep in mind it's not a wholly friendly place
My friend did his AC ligament in his knee and was on glucosamine (?)...
His knee was really messed up though, they ended up taking ligaments from other places to try and patch it up.. and it remains weak to this day. Hopefully the shoulder is a different kettle of fish...

Yeah as I understand it, glucosamine helps increase joint lubrication, making it less susceptible to popping and other forms of injury
But your best bet would be to consult both a medical professional and a certified bodybuilder
