(Sierra Hi-Res Adventure #0)

Ghorpm: Frightmare for the second one? Watch it around 0:50, perhaps that's what you meant with hand rising?
avatar
phaolo: OMG Ghorpm.. I think you got it..and with almost no clues!
I somewhat recall the second screen now!
(exactly like my image.. LOL.. luckly there were those raising guys XD)

Now I recognize the flying faces and hands, the bullets, the devils, the angel statues..
The game seems quite hard, however, probably I didn't get very far.

Thank you! :D

I'm checking the other people suggestions, but for now they don't seem right.

Telika: Was game one Final Command ?
avatar
phaolo: Unfortunately it's not that. The graphic was less heavy, more stylized, with red\purple colors. (I don't know about plot)
avatar
FlamingFirewire: [..]could it be Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, or one of the opening missions in Star Trek the 25th Anniversary Edition?
avatar
phaolo: Mmm, neither one of them. HGTTG seems text-only and ST is too graphically "advanced" than the entry
How's Star Trek game, anyway? Is it a good adventure?
This will probably give you a good idea as to whether or not you would like it: http://www.pixelships.com/adg/ep0105.html

I really enjoyed my time with it as a fan of Star Trek The Original Series, so I'd say it's definitely worth a go even if it's not the game you were looking for :)

Fever_Discordia: Mission Asteroid? [..]
Nope, it's none of those. :\

Thanks, it seems good! :)
Sounds like Space Quest I: The Sarien Encounter, but the image doesn't fit.

Do you remember if the 'first person view' was actually just stills to go with a text adventure (a 'graphic adventure' as they were called. like what you'd make with the 'Graphic Adventure Creator') Or was actually animated in some way like a normal game?

I think that there wasn't any anymation, just static screens.

Nope, SP1 is in third person, you don't start in your room and there isn't any reactor problem.
avatar
phaolo: Game1 tried on a friend's Apple computer one day:

- the genre was scifi adventure.
You started in a room on a spaceship\spacestation while there was an emergency going.
I think I remember a reactor problem and you had to do something fast or.. die.
You could access other 2-3 screens.
I never managed to avoid death or exit the room lol.

- the image rapresents the first person view of the room, with some kind of panel on the left and a corridor on the right with 2 doors (the one at the end was locked).
I think this was the second screen of the game; in the first you could maybe see your room.
This sounds a lot like the start of the Red Dwarf game, but I'm not sure if there was ever a version of it with pics, or if it was always only a text adventure...

Also, I don't think it was an official game, although it was made around 1996, which almost fits the "20 years ago" criteria...

edit: And here it is...

Ok, I'll check it, ty.

-------

I've noticed a problem about the first game info.

I played other games on my friend's computer, like Bubble Bobble and Prince of Persia.
Looking again at the screenshots, however, I remember seeing the DOS (IBM-PC VGA) or Amiga graphic and not the Apple\Machintosh one!
Weird, I was quite sure about it, but now..

or [url=http://www.mobygames.com/game/bubble-bobble/screenshots]here you can check the screens too.

Also, probably the unknown game graphic was CGA, because I'm remembering pink+black+white+lightblue colors only.

Bump?

p.s: for game1, does anyone know where to find images for "Space Adventure: Zodiac"?
I'd suggest Federation Quest 1 (or BSS Jane Seymour as I knew it) for the first one, but seems that was amiga/atari/dos(?) only.

Whoa - like Dungeon Master on a spaceship - like SS2 done in SS1s engine!
Is it good? Is it on the wishlist?

It's not that either, unfortunately.
No CGA, and I don't recall a lower panel with a face icon.

I'll check that title too, however, as it seems cool (and it's rated 8)

Not really sure... I'm know I liked it on the amiga ages ago but I can't remember much now. I guess it did have a slight SS2-vibe about it. All I remember is it had various decks (and keys for elevators?) and some dinosaur-cyborg enemy. :p

Downloaded the amiga version some time last year to try in an emulator but without much luck. Couldn't find out how to attack so I kept kept dying in the first room!

I'll try another BUMP
Although a little vague, your first game sounds like Legend Entertainment's "Mission Critical" to me. It starts on board a space ship/station, and immediately there's a critical problem. As I recall, a hole in the side of the ship is venting oxygen outside and if you don't fix it you'll die. Legend games were kind of a hybrid between the old Infocom text adventures and more modern point-and-click games, with an interface that contains large lists of possible noun/verbs to pick from. Anyway, just a shot in the dark!
