Some weeks are just too good to be real. We’ve just released a slew of well-loved classics in the last 7 days, and now we’re wrapping up the with a bang! [url=http://www.gog.com/promo/interplay_blast]The Interplay Blast weekend promo marks the beginning of equally amazing weekend with 32 games that are too good to refuse, too good to put down, and too classic to not be familiar with, especially when offered for only $2.99 each!

Starting with probably the most recognizable post-apocalyptic franchise in gaming history--Fallout series. Some of you might remember that GOG.com sported a fairly decent giveaway just a week ago. If you own Fallout: A Post Nuclear Role Playing Game, you might be interested in getting Fallout 2, which took the vast, post-apocalyptic world and enriched it further with more NPCs, more quests, more weapons, and more quirky perks. Fallout Tactics took the series in a different direction, and is a challenging and fun tactical squad-based strategies with Impressive number of weapons, skills and upgrades soaking in wasteland climate. You will be pleased to find out that all Fallout games are $2.99.

The Freespace series offers something special for simulator-fans with fast-paced action, dynamic flight model, well-made missions, and a gripping story full of epic space battles and plot twists. Both games are considered to be the some of the best space simulators in all the galaxies we’ve known so far. Freespace 2 is probably superior (as one of our users handsomely named it ‘The Pinnacle of Space Combat’) mainly due to beautiful graphics, improved space ships and missions, and enormous modding possibility. Both Freespace + Expansion and Freespace 2 are available for $2.99, this weekend only on GOG.com.

For action fans, yours truly has prepared and [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/mdk_2]MDK2, two third-person shooters that are among of the greatest and most memorable action games of all time. MDK offers fun and addictive gameplay, filled with humor - a trademark of games by Shiny Entertainment. The Bioware-made sequel featured even more action and humor than in the original, especially when you play as Max, a cigar smoking, quad gun toting demolition squad of a dog.

Loads of good humor and fun describe another action series you can buy with a 50% discount this weekend only on GOG.com: Earthworm Jim. The story: The evil Psy-Crow was transporting a super suit, built by the genius Professor Monkey-For-A-Head, to Queen Pulsating, Bloated, Festering, Sweaty, Pus-Filled, Malformed, Slug-For-A-Butt, but along the way it was stolen by a rebel. Although Psy-Crow killed the rebel, the suit fell down to Earth, landing on an earthworm. That cosmic twist of fate placed Jim in control of an ultra-high-tech-indestructible-super-space-cyber-suit. That’s right, you can pick up Earthworm Jim 1+2, which diverse levels and gameplay modes that provide an unmatched platforming experience and Earthworm Jim 3D, which features pig-surfing. Both Earthworm Jim games are available for only $2.99.

There are more than 30 different games from Interplay that we’re selling at discounted price this weekend, including (but not limited to) amazing RPG , indescribable and one of the most original games ever created [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/giants_citizen_kabuto]Giants Citizen Kabuto, totally unique action strategy , and a fantastic FPS collection: [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/shogo_mobile_armor_division]SHOGO: Mobile Armor Division, , [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/kingpin_life_of_crime]Kingpin: Life of Crime and Redneck Rampage Collection. This promo ends next Monday, April 16 on 11.59 p.m. EDT

orcishgamer: I pretend that Fallout Tactics actually doesn't exist, except when I'm telling people that I don't like it.
avatar
F4LL0UT: I'm surprised that so many people don't like that game. I enjoyed the campaign a lot and I had some of the most intense multiplayer fun with it when I played against my brother.
You have to understand, many of us played it after Fallout 2 expecting some awesome sequel goodness. Other than having the same general setting as Fallout, it had none of the charm and was excruciatingly disappointing. Any one of us would have happily paid for an expac to Fallout 2 or some such but we got Tactics instead:(

Well I played it after Fallout 1&2 and I enjoyed it a lot. I expected that it won't be another Fallout. Microprose said it many times that it won't be a game like other Fallouts.
This is probably a stupid question, but I'll ask anyway. Is there any point to playing the Freespaces without a joystick? I just have a KB and mouse. Long shot, I know. I've heard great things.
picked up Fallout 2 and Evolva.
If I could pick ONE game out of this sale which one it should be? (Already own Fallout 1,2. Freespace 2, Redneck Rampage, Sacrifice.
Nabbed Sacrifice and Stonekeep and now I am going to nab MDK 1 and 2.

Too bad I don't have more funds to spare or else I would get Freespace 1 and 2, Redneck Rampage and maybe either the Decent games or Die by the sword

dukey: Freespace 2 works flawlessly on Win7 x64 (for me anyway) and if you can get the FS2Open mod working then it's even better. So you have no excuse!

Zandolf: What graphics card do you have? They seem to be a problem with all else works.

As for an excuse, well....
ATI Radeon HD4570. This is on a Notebook by the way.

Castles pack, if you are into strategy games, and Stonekeep if you are into rpgs

Giants: Citizen Kabuto. It's hilarious and somewhat wacky (once my sister walked in during one of the silly scenes and proclaimed "whaaat the miracle is going on in here!?". that's a statement of wacky quality.). The gameplay is good too.

Well, I had also been a fan of Fallout 2 already when I played Fallout Tactics for the first time. But I was also a huge fan of Jagged Alliance. I was a bit surprised when I heard that in terms of gameplay this game was closer to Jagged Alliance than Fallout but being a fan of both I wasn't disappointed and when I finally got my hands on it I was actually quite amazed.

I am always very skeptical when some new developers take a franchise that I loved and perform some weird experiments on it but in my eyes this is one that actually worked out just fine.
"Conquest of the New World" snatched. It seemed to have gotten good enough reviews in MobyGames. (Uh, in fact, only one review, but a praising one). And yes, I intend to play it at some point, I didn't buy it just to fill my shelf. :)

Games from the bundle that I don't have yet from GOG, and decided to pass:

Battle Chess Special Edition: Electronic chess is not my thing, and I think I already saw the "fighting pieces" animations in the past. Nice, for the first few minutes. I'd love to get updated versions of Archon 1-2 though, I loved them on Amiga. Maybe GOG should try to get "Archon Ultra", providing it is any good?

And Dark Legions too!

Descent 1-2: Finished them a long time ago already, and not thinking of replaying them, at least until I've played Descent 3 properly. I think I have "Forsaken", a Descent clone, also on CD somewhere?

Kingdom The Far Reaches: The unfavourable reviews turned me off for now. Dragon's Lair with less gameplay? Really?

Kingpin: Completed it a long time ago. I remember quite liking it, but not an urge to replay it for now.

MDK: Also finished in the past. Nice humor ("The world's most interesting bomb"), but so linear that it has very little replay value.

Screamer: generic racing game. I remember liking the demo, but not enough to ever get the full version. Racing games don't usually age very well IMHO.

Shattered Steel: Finished the CD version a long time ago. Liked it quite a bit (especially the Aliens-like music during missions), but no big urge to replay it (esp. as I'm now in the process of playing Heavy Gear 1-2 and Mechwarrior 3-4 through).

Shogo: Finished the CD version. Pretty nice game and great anime intro, no big urge to replay for now though.

VR Soccer '96: So many people have bashed it already, and I'm really not into digital sports games that much.

On my first playthrough I had no joystick either and still made it through the game in one piece. With a good joystick it feels and plays much better, but unless you want to do an all-perfect run, you'll be fine with just a keyboard and mouse. The keyboard+ mouse controls are done really well, but the joystick controls are naturally more precise.
Low budget . :(

MDK + MDK2 + Castles pack + Messiah

or

Machinarium + Botanicula

?
