Dear Oracles,

I and a buddy are trying to play multiplayer with our RE1 DS games. However, no matter what we do we can't find each other through the game.

I have a 3DS and the original DS, he has the original DS. We tried every possible setup:
- 3DS hisDS.
- 3DS myDS.
- myDS hisDS.
- brother'sDS myDS.
- brother'sDS hisDS.
- brother'sDS 3DS.

We can find each other through the pictochat just fine on either of the DS's, so we know that the DS's can find each other and can communicate. But we still can't find each other through the game.

We have tried googling, but we can't find the solution to our specific problem. In fact, we can't find any mention of it anywhere.
The only possible explanation that we can think of is that my cartridge is US and his is European. However, DS games aren't region locked, and even if they were, multiplayer should be possible regardless of where the cartridge is from.

Anyone have any ideas\similar experiences?

(I won't be able to mark the right answer (if anyone can give it) until I meet up with my buddy again this summer.)

I had this problem with the PSP game FF Dissisia 012 Duodecim. The EU .iso (I bought it but it wasn't available yet-don't comment) would NOT see the save game for the original so I could import my characters and save vaulable time leveling. I had to wait for my US copy to come and get the US .iso (I have the game but don't wanna update-don't comment on it). My idea is that the problem is that while the same game and NOT region locked, the MP is. Long story short, you need 2x RE1 US DS carts or 2x RE1 EU DS carts

So basically, there's no way to make our games connect.
I'll mark your answer right. Thanks mate.
