Finds from trip #2. Pretty lucky on both trips, just ignore the 2 books on the bottom.

Now I need to find a way to use floppy discs for SimEarth.

I managed to pick up a copy of one of the Commandos games for a few bucks.

Sachys: Aside from this being an UNDEAD THREAD, REMOVE THE HEAD! etc, Idon't ever remember GGf162 utilising the same avatar as YellowAries. So what is going on?

GOGBEARS - what did you do?
I'm pretty sure that if you change your avatar it retroactively changes on all your old posts - didn't you realise that or did you mean something else?

I've picked up loads of games from Cash Converters and charity shops over the years, my favorite was picking up Half-Life for about £1 then activating it on Steam years later, Steam deciding it was an 'orange box' code and game me Blue Shift, Opposing Force and the multiplayer ones - the whole she-bang!

Good find I must command you on that run of luck. +1

Except for quotes. Those retain the avatar used at the time of quoting.
About 4 years ago, brand new Grim Fandango, case and Cd's for $11

ggf162: So yeah, topic.
Just got Age of Empires "Collector's Edition". AoE 1 with expansion, AoE 2 with expansion, plus a bonus audio soundtrack CD.

Pure, unadulterated 1990s goodness. Four discs, for four bucks! I'm so psyched!

I never did play these back in the day, so I'm eager to see what all the fuss is about.
Not a thrift store, but 2 years ago, I got a used set of component cables for the Gamecube for $5. The cables still sell (used) for $60 on ebay and Amazon. Due to the special digital converter chip, no one but Nintendo sold these, and the way I heard it, when they were new, they were $30 and you could only get them through mail order.

The ones from the N64 should work too, are those any cheaper?

I think the N64 just did s-video at best.
White urine stained briefs.

fortune_p_dawg: White urine stained briefs.
I think those were mine. Sorry. :/
If we're counting eBay as a thrift store, then I'd have to say my best find so far has been the Illuminations Clue Book for Shadow Caster :)

About 6 months ago I bought a collection of PAL snes games all boxed with manuals out of my local cat charities shop for the princely sum of £5 about 25 games in total.

Sold them to a friend for £10 each :-)
My best finds from thrift stores include:

* DOOM II: Hell on Earth DOS CD from GT interactive
* Doom 3 for PC (complete as far as I can tell)
* The Planets Vinyl LP by Isao Tomita
* Humongous Classics Collection on CD (3 games on one disc)
* Issue #1 of Transformers: Generation 2
* The Zork Anthology
* Tomb Raider: Gold
* Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
* Earthworm Jim
* Half-Life: Adrenaline Pack
