I understand that is an oxymoron - a digital-gaming service selling a boxed physical copy - but as both GOG and the Witcher 3 game are CD Projekt Red properties, I was wondering if it is possible to get a physical boxed DRM-free copy of the game from GOG so that I can do business with CD Projekt Red directly.

I prefer a physical copy of the game and like having the manual, art book and goodies in physical format. A difference in the price is something I can accept - within reason,- no $200 editions for me, thanks.

GOG only sells the digital edition of the game, as evidenced by question 17 on Witcher 3 Preorder's FAQ.

It looks like there's a physical standard and collector's edition available for pre-order at http://buy.thewitcher.com/. It seems the collector's edition runs $149.99 on GameStop. I'm sure that it's DRM-free being that CD Projekt Red is vocally anti-DRM. But, yes, GOG only handles the digital distribution so it wouldn't technically be from GOG.
