Can someone who is a WOW expert tell me if a wireless internet connection is good enough for World Of Warcraft? And does Blizzard collect data from your computer like Origin does if you have WOW installed?

Depends on the wireless. I think 1mbit/s is good enough for it.
Yes, and yes. Blizzard collect data so they can sell your personal information to aliens.

Just to be clear, they are different than EA, because EA sell your personal information to werewolves and vampires... and sometimes zombies.

I am looking for serious answers.

Okay. So, let's see.

You either have Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Chrome installed. They all collect various kinds of data, depending on their settings, and send that data to the developers. You're probably using Windows, the OS itself collects various data and sends it to Microsoft.

Steam collects data, as well as Origin. Blizzard supposedly have this anti-cheat thing called Warden (I personally don't know much, if anything, about it). So they probably collect data through it too.

------------

Being serious now, if any data is collected, don't worry, it is not your personal information, but mostly, debugging related stuff so the developers could use that data to improve their software, to be more compatible with various configurations.

And when you said yes, to the wireless internet question were you being serious or do I need a wired internet connection to play WOW?

You'll be fine. I've been using wireless for a few years now, with speed going from 256 kbps to 2 mbps, never had problems in WoW. It is a very lag-tolerant game... if there is such a thing.
Ok, thanks for answering my questions.
Never could play it in my country, connexion too slow...

Only MMO that was playable for me was "Dofus", a french ST-RPG

Depends on what you want to do. Pvp and raiding? Probably not. Everything else? I guess it's fine.

I'd just try the game before buying if I were you, there's a free trial up to level 20.

1. Origin doesn't even collect that much data, Steam collects a LOT more (even if you don't opt into the survey it scans 2-3x as much of your system as origin).
2. Warden scans your system memory at all times when your playing a blizz game they will not state what it returns to them but a list of running programs is likely at least...
3. The game is pretty lag tolerant as long as you don't play a PvP rogue

Because most of rogues' skills take effect instantly, that won't be an issue much, if at all. I think casters have more problems with lag, because they need to calculate their cooldowns.

With my rogue (I'm rogue-exclusive, don't play other classes), if I'm lagging, I just start mashing up damage dealing skills and stuns, and retreat with Vanish or something similar. Wait a few / several seconds, and then repeat.

casters are lag tolerent they can queue up skills (theres a .5 second queue to add lag tolerence) the problem for pvp rogues is many of their builds require being behind the target which lag can influence
Like the others said, you should be fine for 99% of the content.
Expect to suffer in the really high-end content, if you get into that.
I used to play on a mediocre wireless connection and I had to go to a netcafe to raid because of lag spikes.
A wireless connection is perfectly fine for PvP and raiding, it just needs to be a good quality one. I've been using a wireless connection for years and my latency is pretty much the same as when I connect the wire. There's no lag at all.
