I remember it like it was yesterday i built it so i could play games like Baldurs gate, Planescape Torment, and the Fallout games and i made it when i was 16.I started thinking about it when i found it in an old box while i was doing some cleaning, the specs were

-HP Pavilion 4450 (case and motherboard)

-AMD K6 400 MHz

-300 MB of ram

-Nvidia GeForce 256 graphics card

so what were your guys first gaming computers it can be any, be it one you built yourself or a store bought one

Don't remember the exact specs of mine, but it was a Dell. I think it had a 386 processor, not sure how much RAM, and can't recall the exact video card but it was a Radeon.

My first gaming rig was a PC-XT clone with a Hercules card and a Kraft joystick. I played Microsoft Flight Simulator on this along with some other early games I forget now in glorious orange monochrome.

We had one of those as well... never got used for gaming though

First PC that saw plenty of gaming use was an old thing with 4 colour CGA!! :P

My first PC was not intented as a gaming rig. But the second one - a 80286 with a VGA adaptator , 5.25 and 3.5 inches floppy disks readers and a HDD- was. As such, it eventually received a new motherboard and CPU ( a 80386DX 33mhz ), and a better graphic accelerator.

Back in my time (get off my lawn, damn kids!) there was no such thing as a "gaming rig". Sure, I used it for gaming, but its hardware didn't differ too much from anything else on the market. Anyway, it was an IBM PC. Can't remember the specs for it, but it was damn expensive and several orders of magnitude less powerful the the phone I'm writing on now :S

My first rig was a pentium 166 and I can't remember anything else, I played duke nukem 3d, shadow warrior and wolf 3d, I remember redneck rampage crawling on that pc but playing it anyway and beating it lol . After that I went through many pcs.

My first rig that I bough with my own money was an amd athlon 3000+ with an nvidia 8600gt vga, doom3 and oblivion were the first games I played on that pc

First gaming rig I bought myself was a Pentium II 333 mhz with 512 mb of RAM, a Soundblaster Pro, and an ATI Rage 3D card with like 32 mb. It also had a top of the line CD/CD-R/RW drive, which were still new for the time, a 3.5" floppy drive, and also a top of the line V90/56k dial up modem. The monitor was an SVGA 17" beast that could have doubled as a tube TV. I don't think it came bundled with any games, but I definitely played the crud out of some Fallout 1/2, Nocturne, Baldur's Gate, Return to Krondor, and all the best games of '98. I ended up replacing it back in '03.

Well, my first real personal computer was an Amiga 500. The specs today are laughable. As far as IBM clones are concerned, it was a Packard Bell. I believe it was a first generation Pentium, again I forgot the specs, but I'm sure they're laughable by todays standards. Thank the creator for emulation. But yeah, great machine, too bad Commodore didn't know how to properly market it ;p

My first own computer was Commodore Amige 500 bought in 1987, which is still alive together with some other Amigas, a CD32 and an Atari ST . The first console I played on regularly was an Atari 2600 of a friend :)

C64 was my first.
The first PC was mmmh, x86 or 88 can't remember, 2 x 5 1/4", no HDD, no Graphic and with vast 512KB.
Oh, those days were we used a floppy perforator or scissors to use both sides of a single sided disc and
where porn pictures were made of xX.
