Elmofongo: EA buying Origin was worse, at least Origin did not end with a monumentally dissipointing game (Ultima 9) and a MMORPG whose popularity was short lived (Only 2 years until Everquest kicked in)
keeveek: What do you mean? Ultima Online still lives and is one of the longest living MMO games out there.
It lasted long in terms of existance, but not so much in terms of popularity.
I mean ever since Everquest relased Ultima Online became irrelevant, not only that asshole players abusing the games rules like the massive player killing, even if you just made a new character, was unnacceptable and Origin did not do a good job at maintaing the problem, instead of making some sort of developer run law enforcement (which would make sense regarding the kind of game it was) they went the lazy route from changing the color of the names of people (Blue means innocent, Grey means criminal, Red means Murderer) to destroying the old game world and replacing it with a new onem but removed the killing player system.
Elmofongo: I know you said not continue the EA, but I am just giving my answer the question you asked me:
EA buying Origin was worse, at least Origin did not end with a monumentally dissipointing game (Ultima 9) and a MMORPG whose popularity was short lived (Only 2 years until Everquest kicked in)
P1na: Sometimes I wonder, if it's best to get a disappointing game than no game at all. In one you get to play at least something, even if that's utter crap; in the other you don't get to play at all but the game will be forever be untainted on your head. Every time I see the trailer of DK3 I feel that way.
But yeah this a discussion for a different day.
Whats DK3?
