With all the Xmas sales it can be a great time of year to take a chance on new games. You might feel that you have mined GOG for anything worth playing but am sure that there are always gems to be found. If you are looking for recommendation this holiday season I humbly offer my services.

This is the basic premise of my recommendations, any of these games are certainly a good buy at 50% off if you are interested in the genre. If you find it at 80% off just get it even if you don't normally like the genre, you owe it to yourself to try something new when it is this awesome and at this awesome of a price!

Here is a keycode as to why I recommended the game:

U: Unique. Something is unique about this game. It could be the gameplay, the story, atmosphere or something else. The long and short of it is that if you are yearning for something different this game might be for you.

GS: Great Story. This game has tells a great story. If you like your games to have a narrative this is worth a look.

D: Depth, this game has layers, it is complex in a good way. Just when you think you have it figured out you find there is more to explore. This is a game you not only can you play more than once, you should play more than once.

C: Classic. This game is a classic. Amazing in its day and still fun today. Some may argue it is overrated, and perhaps it is, but that does not change the fact that it is a very good game.

CC: Cult Classic. This game is a cult classic. This game is amazing but lacked mainstream appeal when it came out. Maybe it was to buggy for most, or to hard, or just too dang weird. But for those willing to overlook its quirks it is a work of art.

TS: Time Suck. Have a few hours to kill? How about a few weeks? This game will suck you in and keep you occupied in a way that is almost scary.

SF: Simply fun. Easy to learn, but hard to master. This game is accessible, easy to jump into and just plain fun.

OSF: Old School Fun. Might be too dated for younger players as the graphics and interface are clucky by today's standards. But for those willing to overlook these facts there is a gem of a game here.
