I purchased NWN 2 yesterday and after installation it couldn't install the Windows Redistruable or however it's called because my "disk space is full". My disk space wasn't full, or even close to full, so this was weird.

I ignored it and launched the game, only to find it completely broken. Whenever my character moved it would absolutely destroy the framerate into an unplayable 10 or so fps, and whenever anyone else moved (including my character) their animatation would skip causing them to "skip walk" around the place. They would use the walking animation but really they were slowly teleporting.

I reinstalled it, didn't fix it.

I'm using a modern rig with Windows 10, so this is super odd.

Does it happen only when the characters are moving ?
Yes, the framerate drops only happen when MY character moves. If I stand still the framrate is fine but the animations are still super choppy. When other characters move (NPCs) they blink around the place but don't ruin the frame rate.

google nwn2 client extension. fixed it for me
There has to be another fix that doesn't involve downloading some random ass third party client extension.

You could try just rebooting your computer.

I had the same problem, choppy character movement, and the client extension worked for me. I searched a number of avenues, but that fix was the only one I found.

If you come up with something else, please share it here if you don't mind.

There are three options:

1: Reboot your computer. It takes a couple of days of uptime before the OS variable gets big enough to cause a slow down.

2: Client extension mentioned above.

3: A small DLL fix just for this issue, developed for Jade Empire, but works for NWN2 as well. I use this one, as I consider Client Extension overkill and it seemed to mess up my custom Camera Settings.
Rebooting my computer didn't do anything. I'm not one of those people who leave their computer on the whole time, I shut it off every night, tried one time in the morning, still had the issue.

Guess I'll just refund the game then, hope GoG fixes it at some point. I've made a ticket about it 2 days ago and still got no response at all, the customer service on this site isn't really the best.

If rebooting didn't fix it, it isn't the timing bug, so none of the three solutions will work. It's likely your HW.

Intel GPU?

I'm not on an Intel GPU and I have the same issue. Also no response to the ticket in two days.

EDIT: Sorry, it does work. I was opening the old NWN2Launcher.exe when I should have been using NWLauncher.exe. When I use the Client Extension launcher it works perfectly.
