Daz1967: After all the hassle getting the EE patch to install on my system, thanks to a corrupted patch0.dzip file, which messed up the original so badly that I had to do another clean install, I'm a little underwhelmed by this supposedly "enhanced edition". That is perhaps a bit harsh considering it is free but I expected a bit more, including tweaked lighting and an improved draw distance. From what I can tell so far, apart from the two new intro movies and the extra content in the last chapter, most of the changes came from last year's v2.0 patch. The only thing I've noticed that is different is that I'm experiencing textures popping in a fraction of a second late, which is something I never saw before I installed the EE patch. I noticed it upon resuming a save game and also when moving between indoor/outdoor locations.
My system is a Core i7-920 @ 3.6 GHz, 12 GB RAM, GTX 680 graphics (301.25 drivers) and Windows 7 SP1 64-bit. I'm playing it Ultra settings (with Ubersampling turned off) and the Draw Distance set to Far at 1920x1200, exactly the same as before. The game runs beautifully smooth at 60 fps and looks gorgeous but the texture pop in was a bit of a shock considering I never had it before.
I'm having the same issue and I also can't say I've noticed the supposed 'improved' lighting they mentioned.
Performance seems the same for me but I'm still having the same inventory issues I had before when using a 360 controller. I hate the changes they made to magic selection (having to move the stick up and down instead of just flicking it in the direction of the spell) and it's still awkward to tell what you currently have selected in the inventory screen as the 'highlight' over the item is still far too subtle.
Also, the back button on the controller no longer takes me to my Character screen like it used to which is annoying. Then again, I only played some Arena so can't speak for the 4 hours of new content.
The pop-in textures is hugely annoying though. I couldn't run with all settings maxed but at least my VRAM and RAM were high enough for me to max out textures with no issues. The pop in is really distracting though.
